Thanks for the update Grey Desire. Junoesque was a Brighton legend. Look forward to seeing her foals in due course.

September 23, 2023 at 17:07 #1664188Princess Zoe retired to be a broodmare in Japan
September 24, 2023 at 12:08 #1664264Interesting! I can see why they would have wanted her and I’m sure she’ll be treated like royalty.
I’m also glad to see that Tony Mullins got to say goodbye to her before she left.

September 24, 2023 at 12:31 #1664267I’m very relieved that she won’t be continuing her jumping career because that was never going to end well.
September 24, 2023 at 19:14 #1664350Epatante has been retired; she is in foal to Walk In The Park.
What a wonderful racehorse she has been; wishing her a long and happy retirement.
Am also very pleased to see Princess Zoe and Tony Mullins were reunited before her departure to Japan. The latter stages of her racing career certainly took some unexpected twists and turns. Hopefully she too will now also get to enjoy a long and happy retirement.
September 24, 2023 at 19:16 #1664351Was just coming to post about Epatante in foal and now retired. Hope all goes well with her first fosl

September 24, 2023 at 19:48 #1664357Pleased to hear Epatante is retired. Maybe she was not a great Champion Hurdle winner but she did me a good turn that day and I will always remember her fondly.
She ran some good races behind Honeysuckle and it was no disgrace to be no match for Constitution Hill.
September 24, 2023 at 22:41 #1664389Maybe not the best Champion Hurdler ever but admirably consistent. Only out of the first 4 twice in 24 starts, mostly at the top level. Proper racehorse. Look forward to seeing her progeny.
September 25, 2023 at 12:49 #1664468Epatante had a very good record which possibly overplays how good she was. The best of an average lot during a poor period for 2m hurdlers – but that’s not her fault.
Just a shame they’ve been oh so predictable and gone to WITP……there are other NH sires out there.

The more I know the less I understand.
October 5, 2023 at 13:37 #1665677Westover retired after suffering career ending injury in the Arc.
One way or another he has turned out to be one seriously unlucky horse – misfortune to get badly hampered in the Derby and then as a 4 yr old he runs into the likes of Equinox and Ace Impact and now a career ending injury when running his heart out in the Arc.
Sad we will not get to see what he potentially could have done with another year of strengthening on his back as a 5 year old but somewhat glad the injury is only race career ending – fingers firmly crossed that he gets some decent support as a flat sire (being a classic winning son of Frankel hopefully helps) as I could sadly see him ending up being a NH sire if breeders don’t take to him.
October 5, 2023 at 13:45 #1665678I think he is certain to become a National Hunt sire, LD. Unfortunately, I cannot see modern Flat breeders being interested in him.
October 5, 2023 at 14:00 #1665679Not the greatest NH fan but I enjoyed following Epatante through her career.
She’ll make a lovely mum and hope her foal follows her success.
Shame to hear Westover sustained a career ending injury but glad he is okay and wish him a long and happy retirement…
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 5, 2023 at 14:16 #1665680So sad to see Westover’s premature retirement due to injury. One of my favourites.
He was probably always going to be a NH sire though, as unfortunately / wrongly breeders want a sire to have proven himself capable of winning a mile and a quarter group 1.However, being a NH sire is something to be celebrated. He has the…

Equally as adept on good-firm as well as soft
Would have been effective over further than 12f if it wasn’t for being a little too enthusiastic as a three year old.All make him a superb NH sire prospect.
