As Glenn Alcoe – surname maybe dodgy spelling- doesn’t post on here now: I declare that my vote was for Drone – A man who ploughs his own furrow.

GIVE IT UP FOR DRONE
July 4, 2021 at 23:04 #1549233The flies couldn’t give a Queen’s arsewipe about OTT. This is the DEAD ZONE ….
CADAVERS DON’T TELL TALES OR THEIR FRIENDS.Your getting far too sensitive in your decreasing age – I really believe you are going through a wormhole of age reduction ,- you have all the worries and burdens evident in a young insecure man matched by the foul mouth of an older man, experienced in the ways of the world. You make for a very risque poster TroubleTank – but I suppose that is your attraction.
Glenn and Drone spin different kinds of magic in the webs they weave. Glenn lurked in here about two weeks ago as I saw his name up in lights. Maybe it was a sign – maybe he thought to post and then changed his mind. Maybe it was a taunt to me. The fact is he logged in which is like breath in a cadaver.
Drone was worthy of your last ditch vote but Glenn matched him so they both won

You give far too much gravitas to posts in a chill-out section of this forum.
Nobody really cares, but it can be a bit of fun to idle away an hour or two. I’m worried about your mental health.
Take care
July 4, 2021 at 23:20 #1549244Rory ? That’s a find – good to see evidence of one of the very early posters – probably put off by the stench of dead flies.
My words from the thread..
To return to the case
one must congratulate
Drone for right guessing
Davies. It was his opinion
that made me think
again three times.I was lulled into a
false sense of security.
The fine minds of Wit
and Glenn both denied
Davies and that strengthened
my belief. Davies would
not have written that
they wrote.
We have had a lot
of clones in here too.
A plethora – so the genuine
article was unusual at best.
Davies had become the folklore
a beast or a veritable God
he was part of the history. He came back with his
name funny and it made
you wonder. He possibly lacked
his old energies initially,
he was no longer so combatative,
He was easier with himself,
he had learned, he had changed,
as people do over a long period do.A lot had happened to him
in the intervening years.
People did not assess the gap
correctly. I got it wrong –
influenced by strong opinion
from Wit and Glenn.
It is good to scrutinize
and to learn. With Davies
I connected the dots wrong
just like Pilsen did
with my stab at his ageJuly 4, 2021 at 23:38 #1549254

Yeah, whatever. The only thing that annoys me, in general, are rude people. No need for that
July 4, 2021 at 23:53 #1549263Well I can be rude at times – in fact gamble often demands it. ‘Who cares’to borrow a line off you – it is forgotten the next day by busy people and we should all be dead in a hundred years.
As for my mental health – yes it is somewhat suspect along with most of human kind. Steroids make me more deranged and a feeling I am not quite there. It is an interesting counterpoint hardly as potent as LSD but a path towards the big beast.
I write in surges – hopefully have a week off to sort out my big pod.(head)
July 4, 2021 at 23:58 #1549269Razzeen was rude
The rudest of the rude
Targets of
his tongue loved it !Forthrightness or rudeness
can raise the bar but one
has to be careful who one
is rude to.

Anyone who is rude to me would be fair game as a target, would not matter what office they held.
July 5, 2021 at 07:42 #1549284gamble is, of course, correct.
I returned older and (just maybe) a little wiser.
For a start, I had belatedly learned that “no reply IS a reply.”
Sharper minds can still be closed minds and a failure to accept me as the genuine article was probably borne out of an inability to accept change and also perhaps a desire to see the caricatured confrontational character that they were accustomed to.
In short they didn’t like the person that I had become, it didn’t fit into their narrow frame of reference, so they refused to accept it.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 5, 2021 at 08:53 #1549288Good Morning Ian, I only popped in to put in truer perspective my first post on Member of the year about the gifting of this forum. Seeing you about, I can share my first cup of tea.
Well yes thank you for your attempt at saving my face but really it was not my finest work and to be honest, I cannot remember if I at one point I believed it was the real you, but carried the game further for the craic. You were banished from this forum as I understand, so to see you back, particularly given the past enmity ( no longer hopefully) between you and Mac it seemed so unlikely he would allow you back. It might have needed an email or request from you I presume, or possibly you tried to log in and found the gate open.
Ricky Lake kept asking for Mac’s endorsement of you. Now Mac has a good sense of humour, and no way was he going to come in and ruin the plot and the page views.
I thoroughly enjoyed writing yesterday and reading others posts, for more or less the whole day – all thanks to Nathan really – and it was just like old times as I remember the forum of old and the buzz that went with it.
I promised myself I would not even look in here this week as I might be tempted to write and I really am busy, but here I am again correcting my drug induced writing.
As far as adopting Tank, well it is legally possible and it was all born of serious thought. I think if it’s done we might do it behind the back door because of all the legal consequences surrounding issue. I might be more a father figure and friend. Apologies Tank if you are reading this later on, this should be directed at you.
You Tank also suggested I might lie down in a darkened room – which I will do later tonight. I have a hospital appointment this morning then my caring duties including a visit to a pub ( not for me ) and masses of paperwork to do. Racing is off the menu for some time for me but I look forward to the day I can lose myself in the intricacies of maths and form once again, and possibly a sideways blink into the future ( my cheating method )
Toodlepip
* Tank an afterthought – I am quite good at amassing spondoolies ( and losing it lol) and maybe I could help you sort out financial matters to your advantage. Not that money is the most important thing in life – it’s just it can make openings and choices
become easier to realise. I could live in a shed and have tried a park bench – but seriously it’s not the best option !July 5, 2021 at 11:51 #1549296gamble, neither of them will give a toss!(nap)
Nap landed. All that was an eon ago when I used this forum to discuss and had more than the current passing interest in racehorses and betting; a forum I now use to prattle on about Covid, submit desert island discs and guffaw at the entertaining banter you ‘members’ provide
Though I must thank you heartily Tank for your vote. Were you Tormentor or Mr Pilsen back then? I can’t recall if the torment led to the pils or the pils caused the torment
Harry Ferguson invented the three-point linkage for hitching implements to tractors; and following its near-universal adoption after the war, epitomised by the ‘little grey fergie’, was largely responsible for the near-extinction of the now redundant heavy horse during the ’50s, when tens of thousands were pedigree-chummed and breeding nearly ceased
An iconic tractor though; like Zippo Lighters and Tricker’s Bourton Brogues a design classic

I will be ploughing a lone furrow today, or at least forking a deep tilth, as that magical time of year is upon us when it’s time to sow carrots in the loose friable soil left after the early-potato harvest. The night’s deluge will have helped preparation enormously
The answer lies in the soil, no question
July 5, 2021 at 12:20 #1549298Good afternoon, gamble.
It’s all good – some enjoyable Lounge reading matter in the last 24 hours in particular.
Nathan, as you say, deserves the credit for its Genesis.

Drone, I would have been MR.P back then. Was quite comfortable as him and only banned due to a misunderstanding. All that history wiped out by a fit of pique, a real shame.
Another misunderstanding was the Tor mentor name. I’m sure Corm thought I’d come back to torment him using that name, but I’d never be as crass as that. The Tor mentors are a group of Letterboxers* on Dartmoor.
Such is life.
* Letterboxing
Letterboxing is an outdoor hobby that combines elements of orienteering, art, and puzzle solving. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly accessible places (like parks) and distribute clues to finding the box in printed catalogs, on one of several web sites, or by word of mouth. …July 5, 2021 at 16:55 #1549333I tramped across the peat bogs to Cranmere Pool many years ago and found the letterbox hidden there containing a log book and rubber stamp. The map I had with me was duly stamped but that’s long gone unfortunately
I believe that was the original and was/is maintained by the army who used/use the area as a firing range; but am told they’ve now burgeoned and are to be found all over Dartmoor
Good memories of several holidays on Dartmoor, staying in a mobile home on a site near Tavistock, with evening strolls up to the very olde-worlde Peter Tavy Inn, which is probably now a fancy gastropub
July 5, 2021 at 21:29 #1549361It wasn’t tor mentor it was tormentor – not everyone believes in the little people or has heard about their antics.
It was a rank choice of name for a banned member to come back with.
