    It’s true.

Blackbeard will retire rated a stone worse than Little Big Bear, yet with considerably higher career earnings.

That’s organised crime on the high seas for you: “Pieces Of Eight, Pieces Of Eight….”

I’m not sure Blackbeard will return at 3
he if does could well be Aidan’s Commonwealth cup horse unless LBB flops at the mile

    That horse is no fool.

He’s already got criminally-amassed fortunes buried under the 6f gates at various racecourses in Britain, Ireland and France – he will never pay a penny in tax on any of it.

He only gets down on his knees as he’s so used to bowing before LBB at home every morning.

Blackbeard is never home, he’s always aboard the ship
Potentially could be taking over America in the Breeders cup

    Makes sense.

If you’re mostly on the High Seas your tax status and citizenship is perpetually unclear.

This horse is a genius at tax avoidance.

It’s blindingly obvious that this is stallion-bluffing behavior, and if Blackbeard’s connections want to prevent it from escalating and seriously injuring himself or a person they should stop laughing it off and school him properly, or failing that, geld him. You might humor it in a first-time starter but it’s not amusing or endearing at this point. :negative:

Geld a Group 1 winner, Miss Woodford?
In the words of his sire, No! Nay! Never!

Suspect AOB has done all he can to stop these antics and failed.
However, you’re right about the danger of it escalating.
Can see Coolmotre announcing an injury. Retiring Blackbeard to stud at the end of the season (if not before) making sure the problem does not get any worse – never needing to be ridden again.

    Yes, agree
Aidan has run him a lot too which can mean an early retirement sometimes.

Im sure aiden has tried everything but he seems to have his wee quirks. Dont think he will be retired early. Hes inproving with each race and can see him being a top sprinter next season. Did marinsky not try and bite opponents iirc.

After the Morny, AOB is quoted as saying:

“He’s a proper early, fast and mature two-year-old,” said O’Brien of Blackbeard. “He jumps, he takes loads of racing and has loads of speed, and I couldn’t be happier with him.“

That could be interpreted as “We’re leaning towards retiring him at the end of the season.”

As a Group 1 winning colt there is no chance he will be gelded. Why anyone would want to breed from such a lunatic is another matter.
