I’d like to share my thoughts on the BHA (British Horseracing Association) … firstly, the new whip ruling, no more than 8 strikes in a race is ridiculous, especially when some races are over 3m … for all you unknowledgable people … a whip does not hurt a horse unless used with sheer velocity, its a pure remninder to improve the horses concentration and is a skill used by the top jockeys, this will upset lots of people and affect racing …. also, wanted to say today’s ban (10 days) for 9 jockeys who didn’t stop at Wetherby in the same race, as a horse suffered an injury is a total disgrace and embarrasing, especially to jockeys like AP McCoy, Paddy Brennan and Brian Hughes who are the best at what they do, how can they see a man waving a yellow flag within 2 strides only? Stand in front of the hurdles or put the dolls on the hurdle… pure ignorance from the BHA, ruining racing at the moment !!!
