I too like the look of CRY FOR THE MOON. Will stay and act well with the cut in the ground. Trip and ground are not givens for many of the horses today. I think the trainer has aimed him at this since his second in Irish version last year where he was behind a very good horse of Oxx called Minsk (actually runs tomorrow). Had a quiet run at back of field last time staying on at end and will be ready for the job today.
My saver will be Tominator. Potential improvement at this trip and excellent form. New stable might squeeze improvement too
October 13, 2012 at 11:14 #416516And Blue Bajan must be worth a little each way at a big price
October 13, 2012 at 14:52 #416570Tominator looked the likely winner but didn’t get home. Unlucky horse obviously I Have A Dream. Race really should be limited to 20 runners.
October 13, 2012 at 15:03 #416572Wish I’d read your post earlier, VtC [congratulations by the way!] as I looked twice at Aaim to Prosper when I saw the draw, but as he won from right at the bottom of the handicap 2 years ago it semed well nigh impossible to win with that weight. Again the draw proves decisive. I did think of just backing horses drawn 1-7. At least with Right Stuff I didn’t suffer the pain of backing a horse at 40/1 and seeing it win at 100’s. Then again, I ignored Never Can Tell last year because of the draw. Qe sera sera.
October 13, 2012 at 16:12 #416582I decide to go for Aaim to Prosper
…..who’s out of form, and significantly higher than he was when winning it 2 years ago. I’ve taken a leap of faith, based on the chance that Fallon isn’t riding him for nothing, after getting to know him last time out here. On the face of it, he was well beaten, but began to show signs of keeping on then, and the extra 2f just might suit……….clutching at straws I suppose, probably deserve all I get.Magic.
October 13, 2012 at 19:07 #416602Well done Venture to Cognac, excellent pick.
I did Olympiad – well backed, but wasn’t going to win from a long way out.
This is a really fun race to bet on/watch. Something different from the norm.

October 14, 2012 at 00:17 #416655moe, Superman, Zip, Trapper, thanks very much, appreciate it. Just about down off the ceiling now , and got my voice back, been betting him through the week as well, so all in all been a good day. Cheers.
October 14, 2012 at 01:43 #416658That Fallon kid will make into a jockey someday.
October 14, 2012 at 04:07 #416659Really well done VTC, you don’t get many of them to the pound.
No wonder Fallon was top jock for so long…what a ride!!!. Jimmy Quinn looked like an female amateur rider next to him.
October 14, 2012 at 07:38 #416661Hell’s teeth! Well done VTC a proper coup!!
It was one of those races where I couldn’t really fancy anything but wanted an interest so I ended up having a little EW on Dark Ranger. I got a decent run for my money but the jockey appeared to tire before the horse.
I wish I’d read the thread and your post before hand though. I often back Fallon’s mounts if they have some previous form and are big value prices. There cant be many better pilots on the circuit.
…Once it had won it looked an obvious EW bet.

The other fairer option would be a flag start – even better combine that with a reduction in numbers as well.
As regards Fallon you would think this forum is frequented by bookmakers. He has been yesterday’s man for several years. Can’t get horses settled, can’t keep horses straight and only now wondering why the big rides have dried up.
October 14, 2012 at 11:16 #416686Thanks H & H
October 17, 2012 at 03:03 #416999The results can sometimes be enbarrasing to those with their minds already made up.
