I’ve been with Betdaq ever since Betfair introduced the "Know Your Customer" procedure ( I couldn’t be arsed to scan and fax all the bank/electricity/phone details etc.).. And in the last two days there has been a very noticeable increase in the Betdaq liquidity levels. People have definitely migrated as a result of the Betfair increases.<br>Be warned tho’ …….. Betdaq have introduced a 2% commission on I.R. bets, the so-and-so’s!!! Only in the last coupla days! Very suspect.

Now, I’ve been reading that some gamblers/traders have negotiated a premium commission rate with Betdaq …… as low as 2 %! Apparently, if you ask nicely, Betdaq will accomodate you. Anyone here on TRF to have tried this?

Finally, one final question. Barry D is on record here as saying that he gets a better commision rate on Betdaq than Betfair (and that was before Betfair’s recent increase). So, does that mean that bookmakers have a more tolerable commission rate than us mere mortals? I do know that Betdaq use some technology called RDI  to facilitate bookmakers transactions but you can only qualify to this higher level service if you have a bookmakers licence and a pitch(s).

Betfair sometimes advertise the value they offer on shortish-priced horses, but their bigger prices are seldom far below 50% above the bookmakers’.

Incidentally, I know it’s a tall order, but I wish the TV channels would offer a choice between having the finish roared or screamed at you (depending on the pitch of excitement experienced by the commentator) and a calm, factual account.
