Currently the only tipsters I follow are Gingertipster and Simon Rowlands (whose blog is on ATR). Nobody seems to take much notice of Tom Segal these days, but maybe there are others who are worth following. Perhaps Tony Calvin now he’s moved on from Betfair so it’s possible to get on before the odds change? Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks for the compliment.

I do feel sorry for people like Tom Segal and Hugh Taylor. They know how to identify value / a good bet but have one major disadvantage with tipping. They’re too well known. Bookmakers slash the odds available pretty much as soon as the selections are given… Which means once their tip shortens, not only would it not have been their tip in the first place if originally at that shortened price… They’d have actually opposed it with something else. So it is easier for me than them… And I am not interested in selling my tips.Simon Rowlands is someone I’ve taken an interest in over the years. Not to follow his tips but listening to all he has to say. Thankfully we (or I) don’t hear as much about sectional timing nowadays. Or maybe it’s because I gave up RacingUK and ATR. There was a time I thought he was in danger of destroying that edge by making it too well known. One of my main areas that I believe give me an edge isn’t exactly “sectional timing”, but is related. Pace In The Race. Doing my own pace map and working out who the probable pace is likely to advantage (including wind speed and direction).
I’ve never looked for a tipster so I wouldn’t know of any others. I learnt a lot from Alan Potts. Has he a tipping service?
Value Is EverythingJanuary 7, 2025 at 11:42 #1717671Maybe following people is a time thing for some, with family or work schedules. if you have the time try and make your own selections. One thing starting off I remembered someone saying to me trust your eyes not your ears.
Following people others is not a bad thing but not for me, but maybe i am just set in my ways
