I know there will be the usual complaining that it is “right wing” (so what) but I believe it asks a perfectly fair question. Why was Ms Maitlis not bothered about people who openly support the Labour Party being appointed to the BBC board but then makes a fuss about a Conservative?
If he is influencing the BBC’s news output (a highly dubious claim), then he is not doing a very good job. The BBC regularly features interviews with people introduced as “experts” but a cursory glance of their Twitter and Facebook history shows they are Labour Party activists, some of them very vocal.
I believe the BBC has the right to interview whoever it wants but to pretend they are somehow disinterested and neutral is dishonest. Ms Maitlis does not seem too concerned about that either.
August 25, 2022 at 17:44 #1612508It’s a fair question, but I think in fairness that Labour are only really of interest when they’re actually in government.
The reason why Tories are under greater scrutiny is they’re in office.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 25, 2022 at 21:46 #1612517The original version of the story on the BBC website contained no reference to Robbie Gibb. It was quietly added later with no reference to the amendment. How very curious.
