February 26, 2005 at 12:00 #58512more saturday selections…
Aston
3:45 kempton – GUNTHER MCBRIDE
(Cupboard Lover is a non-runner)
Grasshopper
2:50 chepstow – MIDNIGHT GUNNER
4:50 kempton – SHALAKO
In further answer to your question Grasshopper, I would reckon that, primarily, you probably need Aston’s system to pick a load of duff ones and for no Pipe second strings to go in at big prices…
Finally, just in case anyone is interested (I am, but then I’m a very boring individual), my system would have continued to show a profit…
NV – 18 wins from 77 selections > 23.38% s.r. > £88.05 returned > +14.35% l.s.p.
Although nowhere near enough to challenge the big boys here, it’s almost enough to get me thinking about trying it out properly!
February 26, 2005 at 20:14 #58513Scores after Saturday – 1 week to go
1. Aston sel’s 10/31 p/l +16.63pts %p/l +53.64%
2. Lookingforawinner sel’s 6/22 p/l +7.75pts %p/l +35.22%
3. Grasshopper sel’s 5/25 p/l +7.07pts %p/l +28.8%
4. Letsgetracing sel’s 1/12 p/l +3pts %p/l +25%
5. Empty Wallet sel’s 3/14 p/l –0.25pts %p/l -1.78%
Lookingforawinner is the big mover after Farmer Jack, his only selection of the day, won at 5/1. After a winner yesterday as well, LFAW now finds himself moving from last to second place and he’s now hard on the heels of long timer leader Aston.
Disappointing day all around for everyone else and commiserations to Empty Wallet after Jalouhar finishes 2nd at 10/1 and to Grasshopper whose Midnight Gunner was also placed at 10/1. If either of those had won then we would have a new leader tonight. All of which goes to show that this contest is likely to go right to the wire.

1. Aston sel’s 10/33 p/l +14.63pts %p/l +44.33%
2. Lookingforawinner sel’s 6/23 p/l +6.75pts %p/l +29.35%
3. Grasshopper sel’s 5/25 p/l +7.07pts %p/l +28.8%
4. Letsgetracing sel’s 1/12 p/l +3pts %p/l +25%
5. Empty Wallet sel’s 3/14 p/l –0.25pts %p/l -1.78%
Two losers for Aston brings him back to the field a little but Lookingforawinner fails to take advantage. No runners today for the other three.
February 27, 2005 at 23:32 #58519Come on Aston and Hopper, the NV stable is looking for the exacta here. :)
February 28, 2005 at 21:25 #58520Scores after Monday –
1. Aston sel’s 10/33 p/l +14.63pts %p/l +44.33%
2. Grasshopper sel’s 5/25 p/l +7.07pts %p/l +28.8%
3. Letsgetracing sel’s 1/12 p/l +3pts %p/l +25%
4. Lookingforawinner sel’s 6/24 p/l +5.75pts %p/l +23.95%
5. Empty Wallet sel’s 3/14 p/l -0.25pts %p/l -1.78%
Abandonment of Plumpton means only Lookingforawinner had a runner today and unfortunately for him it lost, moving him back down the table into 4th place. Hopefully we’ll get plenty runners as the week progresses and the weather improves.
February 28, 2005 at 21:32 #58521Tuesday’s selections

March 1, 2005 at 22:31 #58523Scores after Tuesday –
1. Aston sel’s 10/36 p/l +11.63pts %p/l +32.30%
2. Letsgetracing sel’s 1/12 p/l +3pts %p/l +25%
3. Grasshopper sel’s 5/26 p/l +6.07pts %p/l +23.34%
4. Lookingforawinner sel’s 6/25 p/l +4.75pts %p/l +19%
5. Empty Wallet sel’s 3/14 p/l -0.25pts %p/l -1.78%
Bad day for Aston with 3 losers (unlucky with a 15/2 second though Aston) and no luck for either Grass or LFAW who both have a loser apeice. Letsgetracing moves into second place as Grasshopper loses ground. Empty Wallet trails and needs a few runners (and winners) if he’s to challenge.

Grasshopper
4:55 wetherby – Undeniable

March 2, 2005 at 09:03 #58526Quick question, on Aston’s system if I’m reading it correctly Double Agent in the 2:15 at Folkestone and Flight Command in the 4:55 at Wetherby should qualify? Am I looking at it wrong?
March 2, 2005 at 20:21 #58527Scores after Wednesday –
1. Aston sel’s 10/36 p/l +11.63pts %p/l +32.30%
2. Lookingforawinner sel’s 7/26 p/l +8.25pts %p/l +31.73%
3. Letsgetracing sel’s 1/12 p/l +3pts %p/l +25%
4. Grasshopper sel’s 5/26 p/l +6.07pts %p/l +23.34%
5. Empty Wallet sel’s 3/16 p/l -2.25pts %p/l -14.06%
Only three days to go and, despite the weather having had an adverse effect on the second phase of the competition, we look like having a nailbiting finale. Lookingforawinner, who has been up and down the table more times than Ronnie O’Sullivan, had a very nice 7/2 winner today and he is now hard on the heels of Aston. Empty Wallet, the only other contestant to have runners today draws a blank and surely needs something fairly dramatic now to win.
