Whatever the going rate is, Graeme, though I’m happy to keep going up to perhaps 7.0 or 8.0 (currently 5.2) should the market head that way.
March 10, 2009 at 01:04 #214688I backed him at 9.4 a while ago and would not want to lay him at anywhere near that price. You’re a braver man than me Equitrack. I’ve also backed Karabak at 7.6.
March 10, 2009 at 01:30 #214699I’ll take you up on 8.0. I’m not a big gambler though, i’m only talking about a tenner or somethin

If Mikael D’Haguenet wins, it’s only money!
March 10, 2009 at 03:39 #214751Karabak for me. E/W if you can get 4/1.

March 11, 2009 at 17:16 #215298I would love to see Knockara Beau strike a blow for the less celebrated trainers by winning this one for George Charlton. He sped away from a couple of pretty decent opponents at Kelso last time. The lingering doubt is that I felt he might be better off travelling to Aintree rather than Cheltenham.
Quwetwo could be anything. He beat trees with his head in his chest at Ayr last time and seems to have a not dissimilar profile in terms of preparation to the same connections’ Red Moloney, a decent sixth in the Supreme Novices’.
March 11, 2009 at 19:03 #215341Fancy Ruby in this & the next a nice BIG e/w double
March 11, 2009 at 19:20 #215345Really impressed with Mikael D’Aguenet the best novice performance so far for me. Travelled, quickened, stayed. Could even come back in trip for the Champion Hurdle next year.
Beat some good horses as well in Karabak and Diamond Harry.
March 11, 2009 at 19:22 #215346Oh well Equi…
Would you lay me 100/1 this horse wins the 2011 Gold Cup? Would anybody?!

He’s never going to run in a Champion Hurdle, Ian, but whilst he may have won regardless I don’t think AP will count that as one of his finest moments. He lost his position mid-race, allowing the winner, Diamond Harry and Mad Max to take up advantageous positions, and then came so wide into the straight that he was always facing an uphill (I’m here all week) battle.
All credit to the winner though – one hell of a chaser in the making.
March 11, 2009 at 19:26 #215349Pleased to see Diamond Harry run a big race.
March 11, 2009 at 19:31 #215351Get in there. A great ride by Ruby once again, although it can’t be that hard ride a horse of such calibre. I’m over the moon !!!!!
March 11, 2009 at 23:21 #215423Fancy Ruby in this & the next a nice BIG e/w double
€50 double at 3/1 & 5/2 the milky bars are on me!!!!
March 12, 2009 at 00:00 #215431Well done to those that backed the winner. I didn’t see the race due to my screwing up the videoplus on the DVD

Sounds like the winner was impressive. Glad Karabak at least ran with credit. Diamond Hazza could be anything over fences.

March 12, 2009 at 13:53 #215576Thought Mikael oozed class and quality there. It wasn’t the truest run Ballymore ever but this horse showed plenty of boot when they quickened. I think he’d have more than enough pace for the Arkle next year. I was concerned by the ground but he acted brilliantly on it.
Thought China Rock ran a cracker as well. He’s another good chasing prospect for the future. Hope he stays sound for Mouse becase he’s had such bad luck with War Of Attrition and Venalmar over the last few years.
