I’ve defected to the Quel Esprit camp too. He can’t have been right when beaten at Leopardstown and looked a serious horse at Cork before that. This trip will be perfect and I see Ruby kicking on early down the hill and outstaying Rite of Passage.
March 13, 2010 at 00:14 #282012I think Finian’s Rainbow if the ground can take the watering and recent rain this horse will take the hell of amount of beating, and I actually make him my bet of the festival with the odds available if the forecast stays dry, surely will go way better on good ground.
March 13, 2010 at 12:32 #282075In the eye, Quel Esprit just doesn’t look quick enough for the Neptune. Even last season he was running in 20f bumpers. In any case he is a ridiculous price at the moment.
March 14, 2010 at 00:54 #282190Fairly funny thing I seen in the Guadrian forum with Paddy Power, Colm Murphy, Davy Russell, Barry Geraghty and the likes, all tipped up Rites Of Passage as the winner bar Geraghty who said he had no chance and would put a line through him.
March 14, 2010 at 10:13 #282223I really fancied Peddlers Cross for this and had him down a couple of weeks ago as one of the best value bets of the festival. Although I heard rumours last week of a minor setback (2 different stories) and he did take a bit of a walk on Betfair albeit he’s back in now. Don’t suppose anybody could shed any further light on the situation?
March 14, 2010 at 12:18 #282262I do not know of the problem, but I am impressed with the horse and I see him a danger with him wiping out whatever has been faced with so far, but I chose Finian’s Rainbow as all his winning has come on bad ground where FR you know will improve a lot for the ground.
Think these two will be fighting it out. Quel Esprit for 3rd.

Rite Of PassageMarch 17, 2010 at 14:26 #283273That winner looked class, if he were mine I would have him in next years Champion Hurdle.

March 17, 2010 at 16:13 #283342Quel Esprit runs in the Bartlett now.
