After reading a review of the race in the Racing post.It looks like Quel Esprit will be in this race instead of the Albert Bartlett.
January 25, 2010 at 23:41 #272088I know I have no right qustioning willie mullins but what the hell is this horse going for the shorter race for. Rite of passage or quel esprit for a 2m4f race on goddish ground, I know which one id be on!
January 30, 2010 at 16:30 #273026Royal Charm was poor today it looks like being between
Quantitativeasing and Rite Of Passage.February 11, 2010 at 12:08 #275576Quantitativeasing is racing tomorrow in the 2.35 Kempton at 2M5 so hope he wins and becomes fave for Neptune Novices
February 11, 2010 at 12:24 #275581In another thread Irish Stamp suggested Willie Mullins’ Morning Supreme, who looks a very likely contender, good spot Irish, thanks
I’d add Pedlar’s Cross to the mix as I can’t see him taking on Dunguib in the Supreme, Donald McCain is surely too shrewd for that?February 11, 2010 at 22:45 #275729Comments in running for Quantitative Easing’s 3 races, reads a bit like Dunguib to me.
A similar effort tomorrow and you have the favourite for this race. (9/2) The bookies have trimmed the price today in anticipation of another bridle job tomorrow
Held up tracking leaders, going well 2 out, led on bit well before last, very easily
Held up in midfield, smooth headway to lead just after 3 out, quickened clear, on bridle run-in, readily
Mid-division, headway to 7th 4f out, improved in 4th before straight, led under 2f, pushed clear final furlong, easily

I’ve gone into details on her, running style, settling in races, relative positions of other front runners in the Bumper last year (the only two other than her who were still up there at the finish were Quel Esprit – one place in front of her and Shinrock Paddy – a few places behind her, the rest were in the last 7 or 8 positions). Think she’s a class horse and would back her each-way in whichever of the Novice Hurdles/Mares Hurdle she runs in
February 12, 2010 at 20:46 #275947He will bounce back at the festival though it was sad he lost today
February 15, 2010 at 02:36 #276762Quantitative easing pulled Mcoys arms out for most of his last race yet he was only beaten a neck. He jumped really well. With a fast run race he should settle in and finish a lot stronger.
February 16, 2010 at 15:21 #277149Rite of Passage runs tomorrow in the first at Punchestown.
I’d say he’ll be long odds on, the opposition doesn’t amount to much
It’s over 2m4f which suggests he’ll be avoiding Dunguib at The FestivalFebruary 16, 2010 at 15:32 #277155Rite of Passage runs tomorrow in the first at Punchestown.

It’s over 2m4f which suggests he’ll be avoiding Dunguib at The FestivalHealys Bar is a decent stick. If ROP has any stamina doubts (I personally think he’ll get the trip no bother) then Healys Bar will expose them.
February 16, 2010 at 15:38 #277158They’ll be no point in going to Cheltenham if he can’t beat Healey’s Bar whether through not staying or whatever other (unlikely) reason, he’s not going to make the frame at either of his Festival tagets
February 16, 2010 at 15:47 #277163I agree, I’m just pointing out that it is no egg and spoon race tomorrow. Healys Bar was third in the Hattons Grace so he is no mug. If ROP beats him convincingly, which I expect him to, he would be a worthy favourite for the 2m5 race at the festival.
February 16, 2010 at 15:48 #277165Tomorrow is a make or break day for Rite Of Passage. If he wins on the steal then it’s all systems go for the Neptune, if he gets beaten then he’ll be put away for a flat campain I would think. Here’s hoping he does the business!

For that assertion to be correct Healys Bar himself would have to be a short price for Cheltenham. As it is he isn’t even entered and if he was you could name your price.
February 16, 2010 at 17:55 #277197Imperial is correct. Rite Of Passage is facing a Grade 1 placed horse on only his 2nd start over obstacles and he will have to be a good horse to win convincingly.
I think he is a good horse though
February 16, 2010 at 18:24 #277203RP ate forecasting ROP 1-2 and HB 5-2 so there’s no real value in either horse tomorrow, a watching brief
