“The clock watchers i was referring to said he would win the Supreme.”
Interesting argument to make considering, as jack said, he fell.
Are we being trolled here?
January 2, 2023 at 20:01 #1629443No idea Ben lol.
Either way, a clock watcher saying DD’s times were good enough to win A Supreme, could’ve been correct?
Is Constitution Hill now a standard Supreme winner or something?
Are we expected to base our selections on meeting a horse of his level every year now Mike?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 2, 2023 at 20:16 #1629445Have to say I did kinda do a double take when I saw the evidence of the clock dismissed because a horse, err, FELL!
The only way last year’s Supreme would have been an average one would have been if Constitution Hill hadn’t run in it!

Not convinced he’d have even been 2nd ;o)

Lol fair enough, I wouldn’t be sure either, hopefully we get a good idea in the Arkle!
January 2, 2023 at 22:55 #1629454I was rather impressed by Dysart Dynamo on his chasing debut.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 3, 2023 at 10:06 #1629468Dysart would have been 4th in supreme. Already passed by both Jonbon and CH when fell. And running with the choke out he was never getting home
January 3, 2023 at 10:45 #1629474I don’t know where he was finishing to be fair (nobody does), but the point still stands on what Mike said about clockwatchers….Dysart was a poor example to use….
Hermes Allen sets a reasonable standard, however, i wouldn’t be going overboard.

January 3, 2023 at 13:53 #1629492Mike for someone so quick to get on at many points bigger than the oddschecker prices, and with cashouts….you’re very good at missing the point.

And my bets has nothing to do with it :o)January 3, 2023 at 14:16 #1629496I’m kinda with Jack here, denouncing time study because a horse with decent times can still fall, cast-iron assertions about where horses would have finished when the reality is no one knows for sure – I thought magic mushrooms were illegal!
Anyway, one thing is for sure – Dysart Dynamo won’t be running in the Ballymore.
Hermes Allen will – and I’d say 4/1 is about right as he’s basically those odds on one run, the stand-out one at Newbury and ground conditions might be different come March.

Some of the ‘clock watchers’ were so impressed with him in Ireland they thought he would go off in front and burn them off. He clearly wasn’t going to do that once the tapes went up and the race was being run. On this occasion it was easy to see that despite the fall he wasn’t going to win. I don’t take much notice of time figures per se and particularly for novices, as we don’t know what is left in the tank come the Festival, what horses are holding what back in terms of ability during their preps and what improvement there still is. If people want to use them that’s fine but it’s not for me for these reasons.
And yes I don’t see Dysart Dynamo as a Ballymore horse either as he looks very exuberant when he runs, a ‘wears his heart on his sleeve’ sort. And who knows he COULD burn them off in the Arkle you never know, chasing might be his game. Just don’t mention the prep race times ;o) lol
January 3, 2023 at 16:30 #1629516As Dr Seuss would say
The Hawtch Hawtcher is a Dysart Dynamo Clock watcher from the village called Hawtch-Hawtch.
His job is to time watch Dysart Dynamo all day as the horse does his job in being a horse galloper from a yard to make grade 1’s possible.
However as hours pass as he watches Dysart Dynamo, Dysart Dynamo didn’t put in all that he could, so someone sent a second Hawtch Hawtcher to watch the first Hawtch Hawtcher how ever the second Hawtch Hawtcher didn’t clock watch after the 1st Hawtch Hawtcher well. So another 3rd Hawtch Hawtcher came to be on the clock watch. and so fourth, more Hawtchers came watching on clock-Watcher-Watchering-Watch, clock-Watching the Watcher who is clock watching Dysart Dynamo galloping and how unlucky for them all to stand there all day watching each other.Gaelic Warrior has an entry at Naas on Sunday along with a few others from the Mullins yard
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 3, 2023 at 16:42 #1629518Grangeclare west is one iv backed
Didn’t jump great on debut but looked to have a serious engine and won a reasonably strong looking race as far as maiden hurdles go with a good few expensive purchases, but the form hasn’t really been franked
His bumper win has been franked by the 9 length second who is now 145 over hurdles
Gaelic warrior won a terrible race at a hack canter so they both have it all to prove
Be interesting to see if they both run
And if gaelic warrior can jump straighter going left handed than he did in the boodles
January 7, 2023 at 07:02 #1629957Gaelic Warrior goes to Clonmel instead. A right handed track. Is this Gaelic Warrior horse ever going to win a race left handed let alone a grade 1 one? ;o)
January 7, 2023 at 10:42 #1629981His cheltenham run suggests hes absolutely fine left handed mike lol
