Sorry, TAPK … but making "positive noises" about a dozen runners and then cherry picking the appropriate comment post race is a tad cheeky … having said that, I guess if it was genuinely considered after timing you’d have received the full wrath of AJ by now … ssssshhh, looks like you got away with it

Fair enough Burrough,i know what AJ"s views on aftertiming are as i have experienced his wrath before! The problem i have had with this race was the ground, the 5 day weather forecast suggested rain, heavy at times for most of the week and i have clearly stated that if the ground came up Soft i would lump on
Redford
,now i also know Redford has handled faster conditions too and if anyone could get the best out of this enigmatic character its Dandy Nicholls and anyone who reads my posts knows i like to admire the view from Tall Trees even on a foggy day!
I"m sure the penny will drop one day!

TAPK, I would like to apologize for my heavy handed approach with you in recent weeks which has seen you crumble and would like to build you back up again.
You’re a good man, keep up the good work.

Apologise with an "S" you Dick! Your heavy handed approach has failed to leave its mark even when you throw your dummy out of your pram and blatantly refuse to respond to my posts but you just cant help yourself! Then there is the "I have backed a horse at extroadinary odds for the Ayr Gold Cup" and it turns out to be Victoire de Lyphar who was never bigger than 25/1
My problem is i should just ignore the likes of you but i have always been the same since school,i love to wind up the school bully until he snaps and then i flatten him! You remind me of them! I must try harder,i must try harder,i must try harder…

Don’t worry, BHL, I’ll be doing all that I can to avoid adopting my usual stance in future lest I be accused of committing another heinous virtual crime.
But let’s be fair, TAPK, at no point did you say you had backed Redford, he wasn’t the ‘one selection’ you put up this morning and the soft ground you said he craved didn’t materialise.
Well done for shortlisting him, but the aftertiming is – and will forever be – shameless!

September 18, 2010 at 21:00 #318179Ante Post King, I know your sort you say one thing like Redford like it soft so Striking Spirit is your selection. Then you do another.
I am glad you won but it wasn’t what you tipped. Also I see that if someone disagree with you, you shout them down like in some school playground.
For the record no I didn’t have a bet.
September 18, 2010 at 21:19 #318180TAPK you do name too many horses to take any credit whatsoever. Naming 11 horses doesn’t get you repped if that what your after (it clearly is)
September 18, 2010 at 21:39 #318182I agree with last 2 posts you don’t need to name 20 horses i only need 1 and that 1 was Redford.Should of stuck with it mate

Well done on the win Darren but don’t blow your trumpet too loudly considering the horrendous run of ante-post losers on your tips thread.

You do the Maths!September 19, 2010 at 11:04 #318220My argument Darren is not that he picked 20 horses (11 actually ) he can pick the entire field for me but in what he adviced. Yes Redford was considered but he went on to conclude that the going was all wrong and went on to tip Striking Spirit. Then went on to take credit for something he discarded.

The fact Darren has nailed a 14/1 winner with a thorough write up and has chosen not to blow his own trumpet and rub people up the wrong way is all credit to him as a person and don’t think your good work is going unnoticed Darren well played.
I don’t think anyone reads TAPK post’s any more so you have no competition anyway!
September 19, 2010 at 18:47 #318280Wrong again Mr.Wilson

I for one do read TAPK’s posts, and find them to be interesting, knowledgeable and very humorous to boot.
But then again, what would I know!?
September 19, 2010 at 18:58 #318283Same here. Mainly because he gives the reason behind his decisions. Out of a handful of horses he mentioned most of the ones that finished in the frame [mine all finished out the back]. When you play around with the ante post markets you can’t just choose one horse, because you don’t know who is going to get into the race, what the going will be like etc etc. Fair play to Darren for picking Redford, It didn’t go unnoticed by me [also marb picked the horse that eventually won the Silver Trophy; hope he backed it!]. TAPK loves to wind people up, but he is good value for money and worth listening to. And hopefully this will have made his head swell even more, possibly to the point of exploding, and we’ll all be rid of him…..go on TAPK; go out with a bang!
September 19, 2010 at 21:57 #318316Where have i stated i have backed 12 horses for this years Ayr Gold Cup???????? I have had a tenner on Advanced at 42 and he has missed the cut,he will win the Silver Cup instead,i have had £20 e/w on
Victoire de Lyphar
at 16/1, £15 e/w on
Genki
at 16/1 and a tenner e/w on
Evens and Odds
at 20/1 thats it for now! If the ground comes up Soft i will lump on
Redford
too! I haven"t had a penny on Poets Place,Johnny Mudball,Hawkeyethenoo or Striking spirit and i am convinced Tajneed is too high in the handicap! My one selection will appear here on Saturday!

The Master debator of the forum i am! Mr W,anchor of the forum?
Having gone through this thread again, anyone who can read English can see clearly the 3 horses i have put the strongest cases for areRedford
,
Victoire de Lyphar
, and
Genki
and guess what they finish 1st 2nd and 4th! My final descision to go for Striking spirit was based purely on the fact Darren wanted me to give one horse and because the ground had firm in it i went for him, like i had said earlier in the week i belived the ground would defineately have soft in it and had backed Redford thinking it would be in his favour, had it been good/soft i know Striking spiriit would have no chance i still knew Redford would handle faster conditions as i had seen him give weight to Giganticus at Ascot on it last year when running a blinder to finish 3rd! Anyone who knows my style of betting regarding Dandys horses knows i backed Redford and so my conscience is clear! I have taken defeat on the chin on numerous occassions and would have here but i did actually win on the race and thats what the thread was all about, showing a profit my way! Darren, well done for putting one horse up and winning, you had 26 running against you,i had backed 5 horses that ran and covered my A*s just fine! Moe i hope you carry on enjoying my Posts as you wont get more value for nothing anywhere!
September 20, 2010 at 18:09 #318474I have read through your posts, the ground didn’t come up soft at Ayr. Now, my English may not be exceptional, but I can understand
Bullshit
when I see it.
Well done Darren, great shout.
