After watching the race a few more time I reckon Fools Rush in is being brought along nicely for the western meeting , whether it’s the Gold or silver I’ll be keen to play , diners crossed with any ante Post for this you get the right draw on the day

He has let down his supporters at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood but I am going to give Orazio one more chance. I assume he will run here.

Maybe he is another of those horses which flatters to deceive and destined to become another “cliff horse”. However, his connections must think he is a potential Group horse for him to have gone off so short in two of the most competitive handicaps of the season.

His run at Ascot was OK and I think he can be forgiven his effort in the Goodwood monsoon.

Taken 12/1 with William Hill and also had £5 each way “epic boosted” to 24/1.

Decision made eventually after a couple of unlucky runs at the weekend

    Fresh @ 16’s

Should be fine on most ground and looks ready to pop now. Horrendous run yesterday and was a miracle he got placed really.

    Annaf

Difficult to decide who had the worst run really. He was last off the bridle in that big sprint on Saturday and looked as if no gap came for him just when he needed one.

It would of been very interesting to see what would of happened if one did appear, one day everything will click and he will bolt up somewhere. Not the best bunch of sprinters but not often you get a horse capable of being placed in a group one running in a handicap, but needs quickish ground really so going to hold off as long as possible.

I’m a Fresh backer too at 16-1, but I have also added Magical Spirit at 33-1. I would be happy with either of them making it to Ayr on the day. Both of them would be a nice bonus

Probably not wise on recent showings, but topped up Escobar to 50’s

Definitely no more till Final Decs, but fairly keen on………

    Bielsa
    Gulliver
    Rohaan
    Snazzy Jazzy
    Zip

I think Zip is an interesting one, and he’s possibly too of the list for Bet 2, but I’ll definitely wait

Plenty rain up here , reckon that means a high draw is what you want

I’ll have a look at this one once final declarations are made tomorrow (Thursday). On that subject gluttons for punishment should note that runners for Friday’s Bronze Cup will be published at the same time as the Gold and Silver Cups since they part of the same process and will be 24-hour decs.

    Magical Spirit ew @ 40’s

Ran twice at Ayr and won the Bronze Cup and 4th in the silver cup, looks to have a decent draw and the trainer has won 5 of the last 15 runnings. The more rain the better but a fair price with 6 places on offer.

I’m a fan of Michael Dods in sprints and I’ve followed Northern Express
for a while. He’s really a 7f horse, can go 8f, which I think is no bad
thing in the Gold Cup as you are guaranteed that they will go full tilt
from the stalls opening. I’m 35 miles from Ayr as the crow flies, and it’s
been pretty wet all day. Possible heavy showers on Friday and Saturday
seems fine. The ground at the moment is given as Good to Soft, I reckon
it might be soft by Saturday. Northern Express has won on both good to firm
and soft so it shoudn’t be a problem whatever the ground is. I backed him
ante-post at 25/1, he can still be got at 22s with Coral and Ladbrokes.
I’ve waited a while to see if he would be entered, I think he’s the right
type for here and I think has a decent draw in 19.

    Northern Express 25/1

Probably regret abandoning Albasheer but Paws For Thought has a good Irish apprentice up and has excuses for his last two runs.

The more I know the less I understand.

No win this year for ROHAAN just yet but this could be the perfect race for him.
He’s struggled at group level over 6 and has been run over 5F in top handicaps for some reason.
Ben Curtis in top form, David Evans isn’t, hopefully the former can make the difference.

    14/1

Rohaan is my selection too at 11-1, and I’ve also bet Northern Express at 20-1
