Your thoughts –

My thoughts on the use of avatars on the site is that people can have whatever they want (within size restrictions of course) so long as –

a) they are not offensive and
b) they are of a non-animated type

The reason for b) is that several animated avatars on screen and the whole thing becomes a bit of a nightmare to read.

Anyone any objections?

Does anyone know how to reduce the size of a Jpeg image so I can upload it as my Avatar – it’s currently 50 megabytes (reduced from 831 using Windows XP) but I can’t get it any smaller than that.

I couldn’t add mine in either even though when it was optimized and only 3kbs.
I ended up saving it in http://www.photobucket.com (that’s a free photo hosting site) and then adding it as an URL.
and hey presto…….
