    Hi All,

I have just joined the ATR website for replays etc

Yet when I watch the replays there is no sound. I have tried all the "settings" below the picture.

Do you have to pay to have sound? I tried googling to see if anyone else had this issue but to no avail.

Is it a progam update issue?

    Thanks,

    Zip

Just tried the service myself and the sound is fine. I would make sure again that your speakers are connected properly and don’t have any loose conections

Sometimes I’ve had problems with sound from the RUK and ATR websites in Firefox. Switch to IE and it’s resolved itself.

    Hiya Zarkava, Phil,

I installed that link you sent me but no difference unfortunately.

Interestingly, the sound is fine when that Zoe Bird pops up and tells me what to do on the web TV screen, but as soon as I play a replay….no sound.:(

    Exactly the same on IE.

Still, at least I can watch the replays.

The speakers are deffo working – I suspect I need to install something, just not sure what.

    Cheers,

    Zip

I have no probs with the atr replays. Sounds like a problem with your computer settings not atr.

I had to downgrade my firefox to version 2 in order to hear audio.

This ‘oldapps’ site is great for making stuff work!! :D

    Good luck.

Unfortunately, after downloading it would not work. Whenever I opened up a web page using 2.0 Firefox I got the ol’ grey error box saying the page had to close.

I’ve gone back to the latest Firefox. I’m not a technophile so will try and keep things simple on the PC.

At least I can watch the gee-gees on ATR.

    Thanks,

It could be you know the following but I wans’t doing anything else so hee goes and it might help someone else if not yourself.

You should check all players on your comp like VCL Media player or whatever. If one of them has the sound muted it can affect the whole lot which has happened to me in the past.

or Go to your My Computer Icon and right click. A box comes up click on hardware/device manager/sound video games controller and see if there are any yellow exclamations marks there. If there is you need to reinstall your sound driver. It should also tell you the name of your sound card.

If you didn’t purchase a sound card it may be an onboard one. You can double click the icon in device manager and uninstall it and reboot and that could solve the problem.

If you have a soundcard like Creative Soundblaster eg it could be the audio driver has gone wonky or is just out of date. If you aren’t sure of the type of soundcard you have do a search for Belarc on google. Run that and it will tell you everything including manufacturers that’s on your comp.

I checked my own recently and there were critical updates I didn’t have. Probably technology on some sites makes old drivers incompatibale so it does no harm to check.

Once you know for sure which make you have find the driver on the net download it and install. If it’s an onboard one most likely the driver will be on your comp and will automatically instal when you reboot or ask you for you windows CD.

You should also check your video card driver is up to date

A great site that can find problems that are obvious without being obvious is pcpitstop.com. It’s used by millions so no need to worry.

Go to the website and click full Test. Next page click the yellow key new members. It will ask you to install pcutility which is totally harmless..so click yes………the next page click DONT create an account..no need.

Next page click Lets Go….sit back and let it run……it will scan your sytem and give you results. Takes about 3 mins to run dpending on your spec and will highlight any obvious problems you have like hidden junk files, faulty vidoe cards, faulty drives, whether you need to defrag etc etc………..cost nothing and worth a try.

They do promote some software but just ignore it…get all these things for free if you know how

    Good luck

Thanks Fist. I suspect it is just something to do with the browsers I am using.

I have the same probs in Mozilla and IE but my sound works on all other sites.

I haven’t chatted with you for ages BTW. Maybe once the proper racing starts again we can all get back to our old Kauto star V The Rest debates!!

Good to see you using your PROPER name.

Looking forward to the Gold Cup Champion Hurdle build up should be fun.

Thing is about a browser issue is I use both myself and have no problems on ATR with either.
    You could try
    1.Open Control Panel.
2.Double Click to open Sounds and Audio Devices.
    3.Click Sounds tab.
4.Scroll down to Wind  ows Explorer, under the Programs events.
5.Select Complete Navigation and Start Navigation.
    Click OK/Apply

Make sure you have the latest version of Flashplayer

    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If none of that works you could have a trojan….I take it you have checked for Malware/Spyware……if not

    Spybot

is free and will clean it up. I use Malwarebytes but you have to pay for it unless of course your a bad person and use torrents………….as if we would
