It should be sparkling, two days before the greatest jumping show on earth.
But it’s heavily laboured.
Matt trying his best to get them gee’d up but the Peter Thomas and Jim McGrath combination is turgid.
March 8, 2015 at 11:34 #807771It’s boring discussing races we’ve heard discussed hundreds of times before. Chapman thinks Faugheen is a machine for the hundredth time – Big Deal.
Could have discussed some other issues such as starting procedures or bookmakers getting so much airtime on RUK/ATR but not laying decent bets any more.
March 8, 2015 at 12:01 #807901Matt (who I like) has just said ‘I am even boring myself’ so I think he’s finding those lads hard going.

Glad he agrees with me
March 8, 2015 at 13:08 #807979Matt is really struggling with these 2 panellists; no enthusiasm
March 8, 2015 at 14:45 #808086Matt Chapman often makes me have violent thoughts.
March 8, 2015 at 18:14 #808324I missed this show today but I find Matt Chapman to be the best Racing presenter on any channel for speaking his true thoughts about issues and events, yes he will offend but I admire him so much for risking popularity and access to the establishment figures but oh, give me him a million times over ‘Timeform Jim Mcgrath’ and others who swoon over all and sundry.
March 10, 2015 at 10:28 #822489Disagree with the OP and some others, I’m firmly in Yeats’ camp. Having had no access to ATR pictures the last few days, I’ve only just now watched an incomplete version of the show online. For me, there was nothing wrong with the two guest panellists who, unlike Matt Chapman, took a much more sober and sensible attitude and refused to allow themselves being drawn into the hype that is the Champion Hurdle favourite. A good horse though Faugheen must be, this is the Champion Hurdle, and he is up against horses who have been there and done it before. It’s a different kettle of fish. And I’m sticking with The Fly.
