Tu quoque, meaning in Latin ‘you too’, is a fallacy of relevance which targets the hypocrisy of the arguer rather than the truth of the advanced argument…

Anyone having basic reasoning and critical thinking skills would understand the above subject fallacy…

Life’s too short. I’m off to do my ITV 7.

One day I hope to have a cursory knowledge of the law – I like to set the bar low.

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/oct/11/the-sun-faces-fresh-claims-of-phone-hacking-during-rebekah-brooks-era

New claims being made against The Sun as well. I see they are busy distracting their readers with various celeb gossip rubbish and yet more Maddie ‘revelations’.

Similarly the Mail is droning on about universities ‘indoctrinating’ students (complete rubbish, do people actually believe that? Do tell us if so) and ‘news’ about the Coronation which is over six months away.

Aside from phone hacking, there’s a major financial crisis in progress at the moment, why aren’t they reporting more on that? Oh, that’s right, their government caused it. Awkward.

Surely the financial crisis was caused by Jeremy Corbyn?

Quick enough to squeal when people are taking cheap shots or whatever. Silence when you come back with the awkward truth.

The Star betting that their 60p Iceberg Lettuce will last longer than ‘Wet Lettuce’ Truss

On the plus side, the Stars lads have a wicked sense of humour.

On the minus side, they’re all clearly my age, stuck in a 1970s/80s time warp and half the frames of reference for their front-page jokes wouldn’t mean a thing to anyone under the age of 40, let alone 30.

Wonder if there’s a link with the Mail being sued and Dacre no longer being given a peerage?

Just in case anyone was in any doubt regarding the standard of journalism at The Mail, here it is publishing the opinion of former MP Sir Michael Take CBE:
