Fingers crossed we get Kyprios v Courage Mon Ami at some point, that will be interesting.

Some run from Subjectivist after his past problems, long absence and his keenness there, though the winner looks special given his prolonged pace as he worked his way through them at a fair speed, still saving enough for the last battle. I wonder if they regret gelding him after his first two wins, or was gelding the making of him?

“Anthony Oppenheimer must feel a bit stupid now after selling him.”

I doubt it. No doubt they paid him silly money, especially for a gelding.

Well whatever the new owner paid for him, the horse has already paid them back the first prize here of £340k today. Question is now will they keep him and Vase winner Gregory apart?

LD, one will go to france, the other will stay at home… the division without kyprios is a shambles really

I thought Frankie Dettori gave the winner a cracking ride.

As stated by Mike and alluded to by FF91, this is yet another winner of this that’s a 4yo, hence attempting the trip for the first time.

It’s always nice in any race to know your fancy will stay, but this is a contest where that luxury was denied you if you wanted to be on nine of the last 13 winners.

I shall remember that next year and beyond.

Great training to get the winner to the race let alone win.
Running style imho huge in races like this , Yabir in the end wanted 3 miles plus to bob into a place as once he woke up late he started to go past a few .

Given it was only his 4th start you’d think it’s possible kyprios will have a genuine rival in this division going forward

He was a dreadful price on what he’d done but the religious frankie backers got rewarded

The season after big bad Strad retires the gosdens may have unearthed an heir to his throne :good:

Eldar eldarov travelled into it nicely but didn’t pick up at all and was running all over the gaff down the straight as though he was feeling a little niggle

Eldar Eldarov was noted in commentary as being very scratchy in his action early on – this was his second straight race on good to firm ground so maybe that played a par…..of course it could also simply be the case that he simply didn’t stay the trip, as the only time he has raced beyond 14F (today and in last season’s Long Distance Cup on Champion’s Day) he has been comprehensively beaten.

Ironic that had Haskoy not been retired through injury in the lead up to the race, Dettori would have been on her instead…..will be interesting to see who gets the ride next season with Dettori gone…might depend on whether the Gosdens employ a stable jockey (Hollie Doyle…maybe) but hoping that maybe Havlin will get the chance seeing as he has ridden him in his first 3 races and probably rides him at home quite a bit.

I am certainly no Dettori fan but must concede that he gave that a good ride. Mind you, i did then follow the Chezza route, put the sound on mute, watched them cross the line and turned over to watch the tennis!

You know it makes sense, sir.

It’s a lot easier to appreciate a good ride from Dettori when spared the racing broadcast media sycophancy tsunami that inevitably accompanies it.
