With the news that kyprios has had a setback and will miss the first half of the season this becomes a much more interesting ante post race

I like mojo star but don’t trust him to stay sound

    So have come down on

    Eldar Eldarov 8/1

Lightly raced queens vase and St Leger winner looks potentially a high class 2m+ stayer in the making

He’s been trained and is bred (by dubawi out of a sea the stars mare) in a way that suggests he will be plenty better at 4 than he was at 3

He ran no race in the stayers race on champions day but 3yos have a very poor record in that race so happy to give him the benefit of the doubt

Without kyprios there is little to no depth in this division and they look vulnerable to a younger improver which I’m hoping will be Eldar Eldarov

Any significant improvement on his 116 rating puts him bang there with trueshan who is now 7 and as we are all aware is very ground dependant. So it’s not beyond the realms of possibility neither kyprios or trueshan turn up.

He landed me an antepost bet in the leger so hoping he can do so again.

Many Flat horses stay 2m, but few thoroughly stay 2m4f.

    I wonder if Broome would?

    Obrein on broome

“We were delighted with his win at Meydan. I’m not sure if we’d want to stretch him out in trip again for the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, but races like the Goodwood Cup, the Irish St Leger and Melbourne Cup would appeal as being good options for him.”

    On emily dickinson

“She would look to be one for the Gold Cup. She looked a stayer all through last season and really impressed when stepped up to two miles at the Curragh at the backend of the season. She grew another leg over the trip, so you’d hope that she’ll do even better when campaigned as a stayer this year.”

Be surprised if Broome stayed the trip. Then again I didn’t think he’d get 2 miles. Wide open. Emily dickinson right in the mix A lot will depend on the going on the day of course.

Is Trueshan actually that ground dependent? He ran to a very high standard at Goodwood on ground Timeform gave as good-firm, that would easily be the standard to beat in the absence of Kyprios. Trouble is he did not seem the same horse after that experience at Doncaster or Ascot.

Emily Dickinson just isn’t going to be good enough for me. It was a poor race she won at the Curragh and prior to that she’s been beaten in so many fillies/mares group races granted they were up to 1M 6F, they sent her to the Lingfield trial for the Oaks, he never sends anything half decent there. I honestly think she’d be 25/1+ if anyone else was training her, it’s just such a stretch to say that’s an Ascot Gold Cup winner in waiting, a G3 winner rated 108.

I can’t see king running him on good ground again after goodwood

As you say it’s very likely the reason he ran so poorly next time

I really like mojo star but don’t see him as an ante post proposition

Happily back him on the day

He ran a belter last year considering he had no prep run

I will be amazed if Trueshan runs on a surface (other than AW) without the word “Soft” in the going description again.

He got beat at Goodwood and the subsequent Doncaster defeat was attributed by the trainer to Trueshan remembering Goodwood and not wanting to let himself down and stride out on the ground.

I think Subjectivist could well regain his title. He improved massively at Meydan from his first run back and if he takes another step forward he’ll be right in the mix.

Bit of a shake up today

Mojo star finished lame and potentially going to be retired

Emily dickinson won beating french claim (107) and is now a general 4/1 shot

I’d still be very happy to take her on, don’t think that form is up to much

Really hoping eldar eldarov has improved from 3 to 4 as he will have a big chance if he has as this is looking a potentially weak renewal

Wide open for Constitution Hill now, just allow the protesters to make a obstacle in the home straight and quids in..
    Please forgive my dreams..

I’d be fairly confident Constitution Hill wouldn’t get the trip, actually.

His 2m4f win at Aintree was his least impressive victory of the season and 2m4f on the Flat is a more attritional test of stamina than 2m4f over timber.

They’d be mad to aim him at this race IMO.

A nice summer holiday is what Constitution Hill needs. Then back in the autumn for Newcastle, Kempton, Cheltenham and Punchestown.

Not Aintree over 2m 4f. And no nonsense talk about chasing.

Emily dickinson won very easily and is right in the mix. Think she will stay the gold Cup distance so is a major player in my eyes.

I assume Emily will receive a mares allowance. Could be decisive in what might be a weak race.

Should be a shake up in the market for this today with the Yorkshire cup and emily dickinson running in a mickey mouse race at leopardstown

Gonna be tough for my selection eldar eldarov to win today first time up carrying a group 1 penalty against fitter rivals

Il take a solid place from him

Emily dickinson should win easily with stratum being the best of those lining up against her. We won’t really learn much about her from this other than she’s fit and well.
