Janet.
How can you take anything bowel says seriously.
I was laughing when I wrote that piece of excelent English.
Anyway. Why worry about me, when your self esteem is so low?
Good work insomniac.
June 9, 2006 at 23:37 #100417The doctor’s theory may help to explain why Trinidad and Tobago football shirts have sold out in Scottish sports shops in advance of their Group B match with England.
Or it could be that T&T have a large number of players who play club football in Scotland (including one who’s actually called "Scotland" – Jason Scotland).
And that a number of Scots have stuck to form and aligned themselves (as usual) with a team full of scotland-based players that has no chance.
… And that this "writer" is an ignorant arse who’s trying to make himself seem "insightful" by talking about something which, lo-and-behold, he doesn’t have a fekkin clue about.
(though, clearly, his idiocy has taken in LM)

June 10, 2006 at 00:37 #100418I will never forgive them for stealing our goalposts in ’77. We even gave them back the Stone of Scone or was it the Scone of Stone? They just love moaning, it’s something to do with living in a country where the thistles grow waist high and trousers haven’t been invented. (Blackadder, not me!)
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysJune 11, 2006 at 12:20 #100419In answer to the original question, after yesterday’s game against Paraguay, no, the Scots are not jealous. At least they’ve all got fingernails left!
Sven’s sparkling tactics again. Score a goal….. then line up on the edge of your own penalty area. Smack it 30 yards to Peter Crouch’s head…and tell him to hold it! Even more irritating is that his successor is sat next to him exchanging notes. It might work against Paraguay, who really don’t look a good side, but it won’t against better teams. Don’t give me any tosh about the weather being too hot. Wake up here, the World Cup is normally at hot times or in hot places!
I watched Argentina v Ivory Coast later on, an absolute delight, and the sad thing is that one of those sides may not make it to the next round.

June 11, 2006 at 12:43 #100420An accurate analysis of yesterday’s England game rob. Having as talented a squad as England have under the control of Sven is like having George Washington trained by Alan Berry.
June 11, 2006 at 14:09 #100421I think England are best judged on yesterday’s first half rather than the second and I wouldn’t underestimate the effect of what was a a stifling hot day on their second half performance.
The quality shown in the later game betwen Argentina and the ivory Coast was, however, a step ahead of anything I’ve seen from England in many a long day and they will have it all to do in the latter stages when they meet a quality side.

Taken in by nothing, I was.
But if they are acctually selling T&T shirts up your way, then I rest my case.
You really do need to get over it young braveheart.;)
Janet.
I look forward to the day when we can meet up together in a neutral place, (thought this might be nice for us both, http://www.harrowmosque.org.uk/ ) and share our views over a can of Tennants super.
Re Mrs Lolly.
We had pizza tonight.
Regards to you Janet.
Love LM ;)

If only you had a case to rest …
I’ve explained in simple words why some people in scotland are buying T&T shirts.
And why it’s not about England.
And, the reason they’re for sale is that there’s a demand for them.
You really like to twist an argument, don’t you LM?
No chance of you coming out and admitting you were taken in and applauding a load of b*****ks
, is there?

You really do need to get over it young braveheart.Get over what?
My understanding of what’s actually going on instead of some "psychology" nonsense written by some journo.
Once I’d heard a few dozen people talking about supporting Jason Scotland, I was able to piece it together.

er, you sure Steve. I think it might have just a wee bit to do with it.
June 12, 2006 at 21:06 #100425er, you sure Steve. I think it might have just a wee bit to do with it.

If it was about England, then surely the scots would be supporting Sweden (who have a chance of beating england) rather than a team that’s massive odds-on to get humped off the park.
Obviously, the fact T&T are in the same group as those down south adds a bit of fun to it (Scotland v England), but it’s primarily a T&T thing and they’d be supported by many no matter which group they were in.

So you say the only reason scots are buying t&t shirts is because they have a player with scotland as a surname.
Thats so silly.
BTW. I’ve found a scots man who is supporting England and thinks we can go all the way.
Thats even sillier!
June 13, 2006 at 12:48 #100427June 13, 2006 at 15:24 #100428Is that him in the ad?
If so, how long’s he been over here? He’s got a stronger scottish accent than I have!

June 13, 2006 at 17:28 #100429Dats me neighbour, innit.
Well at least I think so. They all look the same to me.
Steviedj mate.
You bought the shirt and you dont even know what he looks like!
NOW thats really silly.
June 13, 2006 at 19:02 #100430You bought the shirt and you dont even know what he looks like!
Now you’re just making things up …
When did I say I bought the shirt?
I’m not supporting T&T, I’m supporting the French because France is the only country in the WC that I’ve lived in.
Please keep up … or people will think you’re a hopeless tit.

June 14, 2006 at 06:46 #100432Arse-piece indeed, as always.
BBC comfortably ahead at this stage, with the ITV set looking like a seventies game show in a shoe cupboard. Enjoyed Gullit, Pearce and Allardyce doing their three grumpy old men bit after the Ecuador Poland game.
I won’t be watching England Trinidad tomorrow for various reasons, but mainly because life is too short and I am not prepared to invest ninety minutes of my life in watching Sven’s bunch ground out another tedious result.
This crap about them ‘just getting through the opening game and picking up the three points’ is a joke. That would only apply if they had previously demonstrated that they could win a major trophy and were now playing within themselves. But having watched Sven’s team for the last 6 years (it feels longer) I have not once seen them play as though they were capable of winning the World Cup. They weren’t playing within themselves against Paraguay – that was as good as it gets.
Slightly off topic but did anyone else see Ronaldo last night? How is it possible to spend that long on the pitch and not move at all?
