Steves little rant proves that one.
What rant? Proves what?
You came up with the "logic" that because Scotland don’t support their English neighbours at sport, it must be jealousy.
I pointed out that the English (typically) don’t support their French neighbours at sport, so, by your idiot logic, that must be down to jealousy too.
There was no "rant", just an exposure of the weakness of your ‘thinking’.
A simple point made in a simple way.

June 3, 2006 at 23:50 #100396Have you ever walked into your so called neighbours without a passport?
I think you haven’t. Thats the geography explained.
Can a mexican walk into the USA without a passport?
No (unless he wants shot at).
Are Mexico and the USA not neighbours?
Obviously, you’re determined to prove that Scotland and Holland aren’t neighbours, but surely you can come up with a better argument than that one.
Very harsh mate but pmsl
June 4, 2006 at 16:31 #100402Quote: from Grasshopper on 3:07 pm on June 4, 2006[br]Due to concerns about the high attrition rate on British roads, the DVLA are introducing a marker scheme, in order that drivers with low IQ’s, or some form of mental impairment, can be easily spotted.
The marker is a red cross on a white background.
Two markers are to be used, if the occupant is particularly stupid.
A beauty Grasshopper LOL and LOL again.
Unfortunately I fear the attrition rate will increase as the flag of St George seems to have the same effect on the mentally challenged motorist as ‘go faster stripes’ and ‘Carlos Fandango wide wheels’
June 5, 2006 at 17:20 #100403Here’s the bit I don’t get – why would anyone from England give a rat’s ass one way or the other about whether someone from Scotland supports their football team?
Twister, me old chum. We know you jocks ain’t going to support the better team. (BTW, that’ll be England, we ain’t gonna win it, but at least were there, you aint.((thats were the inferior thing came from)).);)
But as I keep saying, where does all this "hate" come from?
Can a mexican walk into the USA without a passport?
No (unless he wants shot at).
Are Mexico and the USA not neighbours?
Obviously not !
Do Sweden and Holland contribute towards your economy . NO. Your waelthy next door neighbours do, and you take it very willingly.
(classic double standards, that one)
I can walk into your land as easy as you can walk into my land! How easy is that? We must be so close!
This is my favorite though.
The Scottish are Institutionally Rascist, but only against the English. So much for their anti-smoking, Cool Britannia, Pro-immigration, Politically Correct Bull-$h*t .. at the end of it all they are just a load of bigots !!
Hypocrites, the lot of them, if you ask me.
A bunch of "racist bigots". Over to you Grasshopper. Who’s the racist one now?
June 5, 2006 at 18:01 #100404I can well understand and sympathise with those who get browned off by the constant blather about England and the World Cup. Although I hope England win, I don’t expect them too now that Rooney’s crocked. But they’ve still got as good a chance as any other European team.
But what came first? Did Scottish antagonism towards England rebound and make the English become so nationalistic. Or did English swagger engender Scots bile?
For my part, I think one of the reasons the English are now so ready to become jingoistic is that they’ve had enough of the recent politically-correct nonsense that implies that everything about the Empire and white, British colonial history was bad. How every bad-guy on Yankee films is an Englishman . Plus all the cobblers about apologising for slavery etc. makes the average guy puke. Add to that the hash that Labour has made of devolved government for the Scots with the resulting democraticdeficit for the English and the continual erosion of national identity via the EU makes a cocktail that demands the little guy stands up to be counted. The World Cup gives them the chance to do this.
Can’t help thinking that if the English adopted their supposedly stiff-upper lip attitude and barely said a word about the World Cup then the Jocks would be taking the p!sz out of them for being such stiffs.
Although I’m no longer in the first flush of youth, I’m going to drape a flag from my car just to get up the noses of the politically-correct, carrot-crunching, bearded Guardian reading social-worker types who raise their eyebrows at the slightest sign of English pride.

Your country needs you! Nice post.
Twister! Ere you go again!
Would it have been more pc of me to say "dislikes with a passion" rather than hate. Whats the difference, for god sake?
I mention that the scots are racist and you jump to your usuall conclusions. Oh no, not me sir!
Finally, you really need to try and educate yourself about using the quotation facility here. Your arguments are hard enough to follow, without your failing to identify what is a quote, and what is the rambling of your own, tiny mind.
Another attempt to belittle me you condecending little person you. If you can’t keep up with whats been said then it’s time to jog on pal.
So as I was saying……
Why do the sweattys hate (sorry, aren’t to keen) on the English being better than them at sport and stuff?
Anybody got a proper answer?
PS. Twister. I dont know how to do the quote’y thing. Can you tell me how to? Cheers love!
June 5, 2006 at 20:53 #100406Grasshopper – point taken re. no antagonism to English but strong dislike of TV pundits.

June 6, 2006 at 21:14 #100408I moved from England to Scotland in April, married to a Scot and seeing it a little from both sides of the fence.
I take it the title of this thread was intended to wind up the Scots.
Lunchtime at work yesterday I picked up the Daily Record and read page after page of England-bashing…then I had thought…..it’s ALMOST as nauseating as the pro-English crap eminating from the tabloids south of the border.
The Sunday Mail, the Daily Record’s sabbath brother, put the St George’s cross on cars in various Scottish locations in Scotland and, surprise, surprise found locals who put the thing in the bin, ripped it up, burnt it, etc. Which all goes to prove that if you wave a red rag long enough you’ll find a bull who will charge!
Can’t say I’ve encountered much hostility over the World Cup. Maybe it’s just the people I mix with?

I will call you Janet from now on.
Analandy.
You are the most boring, sanctimonious thing on this forum.
You once said you didn’t reply to anything that you saw me post, because it was not worth your effort. So why don’t you just do what you have said you will do, and Feck right off!
You have tried to ridicule my every post without any real reason.
My suggestion to you is practice what you preach from now on.
I will call you " bowel" from now on as you are a fleshy sack of sh1t.
Thankyou Janet, and goodnight.

June 8, 2006 at 15:31 #100415Snippet form Daily Telegraph today (probably in other papers too!
Scots who want England to fail in the World Cup suffer from low self-esteem and a deep-rooted inferiority complex, according to a medical expert.
Dr Alex Yellowlees, the medical director of the Priory Hospital in Glasgow, said many Scots bolstered their low self-esteem "by talking big and shouting across the border".
"The only way they can cope is to act with bravado."
The doctor’s theory may help to explain why Trinidad and Tobago football shirts have sold out in Scottish sports shops in advance of their Group B match with England.
