I didn’t expect 11-2 for Jpr One here, so I’ve had an early bet at that price

Took a bigger price on Petit Tonnerre.

Actually has hurdle form making him look good vs Homme Public.

Issue is it’s his chase debut + HP’s training team are adept with their chasers and are in fine form.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!

An odd fact about this race – Brendan Powell is the only one of the four riders that has ridden a winner over fences at Cheltenham. He’s had 8 wins from 80 rides, more success and experience than his three rivals combined.

Jonjo Jr is 0/27 (he’s a poor judge of a stride imo, which us why his rides so often make mistakes or lose momentum at fences)

Henry Brooke is 0/11 over fences and 0/33 in total at Cheltenham.

Danny Gilligan is a 5lb claimer who can’t claim in this race and he’s 0/2 over fences at Cheltenham.

Four months until the real thing, we have an Arkle trial.

The more I know the less I understand.

This is as much a trial for the arkle as me running for the bus is for the 100m Olympic final

I like JPR One and fancied him to beat Knappers Hill in the race he was taken out of. I think he is a proper graded horse, perhaps a grade 1 though I suspect over half a mile or so further. Spoon is on at a lovely price but I missed it and have left him alone.

After considering the shorter prices, I felt I had to finally bet Homme Public when he hit 8’s (having took 6’s)

    Homme Public 8’s
