I’m just going through tomorrow’s card, and it looks absolutely fantastic so I thought I’d start a thread.
My first bet will be in the Prix Vermeille, and I’m siding with Luca Cumani’s GOD GIVEN. I have a blog I use to write up tips, and this an excerpt of what I’ve posted:
On her posted form so far this season she deserves to be here, but that Cumani a while back touted the Fillies & Mares Group 1 on Champion Day (at Ascot) as her target should be a ringing endorsement to how highly he regards this half-sister to the mighty Postponed. Since winning her maiden, she has won a Listed race and Group 3 on her next two starts, winning both very impressively. She won the Listed race well, despite pulling hard through the race. And she’s won the Group 3 when having to make all, which I’m not sure would have been ideal. Once she was challenged in the home straight, she’s kicked on again to win by two lengths as though it was nothing.
Luca Cumani is in flying form at the moment, and he’s dangerously adept at placing his horses. For God Given to win a Group 3 last time out with any amount in hand means she deserves to take her chance in here. She will have no issues with the trip or the ground. I think she’s got leading claims, and I would have her over the market leaders, especially with her age allowance, every day of the week.
God Given 1pt win at 13.00 w/ Bet365
Journey needs to come back to her best after two months off; Left Hand’s form is pretty average, aside from winning this race last year (although I think that wasn’t a brilliant renewal); Endless Time is a pure stayer who would want further; I think Ajman Princess wants a slightly sharper trip. I’d rate God Given’s form as good as The Black Princess, Bateel etc., only GG gets the weight allowance.
God Given looks a gorgeous filly, and she could have any amount of improvement in her. Hopefully she settles well under Spencer and gives me a run for my money.
September 9, 2017 at 23:27 #1317124Journey should win this if back to her best, she should be coming into form now
Rated wayyy clear of most of these, LTO wasnt her trip
Ill have a bitnon Blond me e/w at 14/1 dont see why she cant run a place or pick it up if journey misfires

I do like Journey, but I couldn’t be backing her on ground this soft when her form this season has been very poor. She was apparently in season last time out, but even so I just couldn’t have her. If she’s back to her best, she wins, but I’m happy to let her win.

September 10, 2017 at 12:41 #1317151My main bet today is Cloth of Stars – 7/2. Fabre has kept him fresh for an autumn campaign and reports that he’s working well at home. With this being a long term target I hope he’ll be well primed. Satono Diamond is the one to beat on bare figures, but how strong the Japanese form is can be hard to tell.
Cloth of Stars isn’t a guaranteed stayer, especially with the extra test of stamina the heavy ground brings, yet I’m hopeful his stamina has improved from last year. He won the Group 1 Prix Ganay on soft last time out so he isn’t averse to bad conditions. If Talismanic gives him a good tow into the race his turn of foot could prove decisive.

September 10, 2017 at 16:44 #1317210Not Mr Barzalona’s finest hour there on Cloth Of Stars.
Satono Diamond looked to be given a racecourse gallop, obviously far off being fit and if there’s an Arc winner in that field the Japanese runner is still probably it.
September 10, 2017 at 19:06 #1317243Couldn’t agree more. Poor ride from Barzalona. Could and should have put that race to bed a furlong or so out but got himself well trapped in. I really like this horse and reckon he’ll bounce back.

“Poor ride” and “Barzalona” brings back some very sore memories from Royal Ascot
