July 25, 2010 at 18:04 #308617Shame your thread about leasing a horse went down the tube, Wen. I was just about to ask you for a breakdown of the figures because it just seemed a bit steep to me, especially when you get the horse back after two years. The biggest problem I had with your offer was that on the one hand you stated the horse was especially bred to run on the all weather tracks and then you reckoned her first run would be in the Brocklesby. Why not give us some examples of horses you’ve successfully leased previously or are you just a get rich quick merchant looking to make a quick buck out of gullible forumites? You never did respond to my question as to how this horse is going to win a few races when you’re intending placing him with a trainer whose success rate is so poor?
Also, this thread in particular seems to suggest that we forumites aren’t already up to speed with recognising apprentices with potential. Come on, admit it Wen, you’re just taking the p.ss aren’t you?
KJuly 25, 2010 at 18:32 #308629Blimey Ken, are you overdue for your next dose of painkillers ?

July 26, 2010 at 15:04 #308851Wen, you surprise me. I never realised you were so articulate. In fact I’m so impressed I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before you’re rubbing shoulders with the likes of Harry Herbert…that guy recognises a class act when he sees it and I’m sure he’ll want to bring your syndicate expertise into his stable.
I agree with you that when it comes to my racing knowledge I’m certainly not in the same league as your good self. I only have one string to my bow and that is an uncanny knack, perhaps it’s a God-given gift, of identifying the fraudsters and .ankers on this forum. Not that I’m suggesting you fall into either category, mind you.
I’m much improved since my recent fall, thank you very much. Your concern is appreciated.
Please let me know when your filly is due to run in the Brocklesby as I might wish to increase my investment in the local glue factory.
Finally, if I hear of anyone thinking of leasing a "specially-bred for the all weather" horse I will put them in touch with you because when it comes to sales and marketing you certainly seem to know your onions. You are the man!
Kp.s. Obviously, unlike yourself, I can spot the difference between a bedpan and a racing forum.
July 26, 2010 at 15:51 #308862ah thank you for your support its much appreciated i will make sure i pass your comments on about my filly to richard fahey who has seen her im sure it will make him chuckle because obviously you have such a great ammount of knowledge and funny though his view was totally different to yours but heh you most probobly think he is rubbish too anyway think its time for your nap cos your getting a bit overtired
July 26, 2010 at 16:22 #308871Hi Wen64
If you know Mr Fahey, why haven’t you put the horse into training with him ?. That comment is in no way disrespecting your other connectionsJuly 26, 2010 at 16:39 #308879If this "conundrum" bloke is not careful he may actually write something related to horse racing on the horse racing section of The Racing Forum within the next decade or so.
Who’s the kid here?
July 26, 2010 at 16:53 #308885Can someone fetch the oxygen mask for Pinza ? … he must be hyperventilating by now … just as the TRF thread starts to sink down the page we have yet another verbal spat on our hands
What on earth is wrong with everybody at the moment ? … take a deep breath, count to ten and try to resist the urge to have the last word before we have another four or five pages of this stuff … it’s not difficult
July 26, 2010 at 16:58 #308886No intention of getting involved in another 10 pages of verbal diarrhoea, Burroughill.
This conundrum bloke adds nothing but agitation imo.

That is hurtful. Quite why you choose to lay into me, on a thread to which I haven’t even contributed (!) I don’t know, but you might have done me the courtesy of noting that my last couple of contributions to the TRF thread were in the way of self-parody, to amuse Ginger.
As a matter of fact, with a mere 300+ postings in three years, I’ve hardly been a regular contributor to the Forum, and I am in no sense part of any "old guard" or "establishment". This is the first time that I have been involved in anything like a flame war, and I’m quite upset at being so. However, I feel that somebody has to stand up for the idea of
quality
, in a (let’s hope temporary) anecdotal descent into the private lives of some of these recent members – we had another dose of this from One Eye earlier today, as well as a damaging admission of software theft. Does he not realise that this could cause legal problems for TRF?
I have enjoyed hundreds of other contributions over these three years, though, including many of your own, and don’t enjoy seeing TRF’s quality diminished by this current spate of aggressive, loud and occasionally tasteless postings.
I’m sorry our respect is not mutual, but please do me the credit of trying to understand where I am coming from.
July 26, 2010 at 17:53 #308899Pinza, think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick here … pretty sure Cav’s comment not aimed at you
See my PM.

Thank you, BHL: I hope you’re right, as I didn’t quite see what I had done to deserve a pasting. If so, I apologise to Cav for mistaking myself as his target. Paranoia setting in… though of course sometimes, they are out to get you!
July 26, 2010 at 18:04 #308903Apologies, Pinza. Have edited for clarity.

Apologies, Pinza. Have edited for clarity.
No need for an apology, my mistake – but thanks for the clarification!
