Guess he doesn’t need the money. Certainly doesn’t like leaving it behind. When he comes out of his shell, he’ll have a few quid on.
November 23, 2006 at 22:49 #31751I’m with Mounty on this one and have backed Distant Thunder. Of course joining Noel Chance also means he isn’t lumbered with The Stangler trying to put him on the floor at every open ditch.
November 23, 2006 at 23:54 #31752Juveigneur for me, but there’s some right ‘plot’ horses in the race. It has a really bizarre look about it.
Anyway, back to the cricket & Red Bull….

Please make sure you stick at least one boot into one of your cats for me. Thanks.
November 24, 2006 at 12:29 #31754Hello,
In 1989 I backed Norton’s Coin to Cheltenham GC @ 200/1
That, I am afraid, was my only resounding Ante-Post success. Some other small victories, but invariably, the SP or early morning price on the day wasn’t too far off the A.P. price taken. :(
I wouldn’t dream of taking Betfair A.P. as you may all aware, some owners and trainers ALLEGEDLY put up their horses’ knowing full well they ain’t going to run !! :o
Over the last 5 years or so, Bookie Ante Post prices’ are incredibly skinny to have any interest in them.
However, carrying out research in the week leading up to a significant race like tomorrow’s could yield fruit.
FRom your enquiries, you are positive the animal is going to run, a juicy price can be obtained even the night before.
With knowledge in hand, you can eliminate one of the most annoying factors of a non runner.
My "enquiries" are usually in the simplest form of phoning the trainer and asking him!!!! :)
regards,
doyley
