January 8, 2017 at 02:09 #1280745Thought I would chuck this one in.
Name the horse:
I was beaten in my first 19 races under rules
I was beaten in a seller on the flat
I was beaten in 4 out of 5 selling hurdles I contested, including off 94 in a selling handicap
I won a Grade 1 over jumpsJanuary 12, 2017 at 16:02 #1281597That’s a good question but perhaps another clue is in order at this point.
January 15, 2017 at 17:17 #1282253This thread has gone to sleep. While we’re waiting for it to awaken here’s an easier one:
For which 2 horses was the first fence high noon in the same Grand National of the 1980’s?
January 15, 2017 at 20:41 #1282277Are these the two horses: Mid Day Gun and Midday Welcome
January 15, 2017 at 20:47 #1282279I think Flying is right on this one!!
January 15, 2017 at 20:57 #1282281Yes, you are correct Flying. Well done and over to you for the next question.
January 16, 2017 at 19:57 #1282412Thought I would chuck this one in.

I won a Grade 1 over jumpsMy half-brother was runner-up in a Derby
January 18, 2017 at 20:26 #1282649We await another clue with bated breath.
In the meantime, here’s a challenge that might fox even the most assiduous Grand National aficionados. Or not, as the case may be.
Courtesy of Wikipedia: Pointless is a British quiz show produced by Endemol UK for the BBC, hosted by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman. Contestants on the programme, who play in teams of two, are tasked with finding the most obscure answers to general knowledge questions based on pre-conducted public surveys of 100 people from the UK. A correct answer which none of the 100 people in the survey gave is deemed a “pointless” answer…in the final a pointless answer is needed to win the jackpot.
For tonight’s final round, 100 people were asked in the pre-conducted public survey to name as many Grand National winners of the 21st century as they could. The contestants themselves were allowed three answers to this question, one of which had to be pointless in order to win the money.
Please name three Grand National winners of the 21st century that you think are the most obscure. For this question it seems reasonable to allow a couple of days for answers (if any) to come in. Any poster who gets three pointless answers can ask the next question. If more than one poster gets three pointless answers they can fight amongst themselves to ask the next question.
Anyone who saw tonight’s Pointless is requested to keep shtum.
Good luck.
