Wow, I had all sorts of clues lined up if no one got that. I’ll have to make it even harder next time.

....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.

Which high quality hurdler of the 1970’s, started life out with a placed run at Lingfield as a 2 year old when trained by Tom Waugh, before breaking his maiden the following spring at the Craven meeting ridden by Tony Murray?

This horse was placed in a Champion Hurdle and his owner had winners of classic races.

Name the two racecourses where scenes for the 1974 Film “Dead Cert” were filmed.

Looked for pictures in Thoroughbred Bloodlines (bloodlines.net) and up came Nimbus (Nearco) 2000 Guineas and Derby winner, family No 6, 3/4 parts brother to successful Sire Grey Sovereign (Nasrullah by Nearco).
Thanks for the Net, when one doesn’t have the books.

    Here it goes.
Harbour Dues (Slip Anchor) won this race with the Queen’s Arabian Story (Sharrood) runner up. Lester Piggot won the race twice, on different horses. Name the race and Lesters two winners.

    Clue?
One of Lester winners was the maternal sire of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman. The 1977 winner was runner up the following year.

Slowly getting there, Kentucky Spring. The race was the Dansk Eclipse in Lester’s day but had been renamed the Scandinavian Open Championship by the time Harbour Dues won it. One of Piggott’s winners was Pollerton; still researching the other one.

In Lesters days it was the two first Scandinavian Open Championships. The Economy stopped the race and in the mid eighties the Danish Eclipse Stks. was introduced…You are getting there!
