Possibly Cath Walwyn? I think she took over the license at Saxon house for a short while.

    Good guesses but no.

The answer is Norah Wilmot who trained Zaracola for her in the last 60s, early 70s, from her base at Binfield.

Rather surprisingly John Oxx also handled horses for the Queen Mum at the same time.

This thread is up for grabs now.

Many apologies Rob, you are right of course and I researched the question poorly.

Yes Cath Walwyn did train for the Queen Mother from the death of Fulke to 2004.

    Over to you…

    Thanks Adrian.

Sorry for not getting back on here sooner. I’ll try and set a question later on this evening.

Some credit is due to strawbear who set me thinking when posting ‘Mercy Rimell’.

What was the form guide between Arkle and Flyingbolt , that suggested that maybe , just maybe Flying bolt was the better of the pair ????

Silly of course to even suggest it , but one does exist ….what is it ????

Didn’t Flyingbolt beat Flying Wild by a distance giving 29lbs whilst Arkle was beat a length giving 32lbs ? Could it be that? Other than that maybe form through Scottish Memories?

I remember listening to this race on the radio; Thyestes was a big event then. Sorry no more details, you’ll have to supply the rest, think I did pretty good

Was it based around the 1966 season

Flying Bolt beat Height of Fashion a distance giving 28lb

Arkle beat Height of Fashion a neck giving 42lbs

Then Flying Bolt beat Height of Fashion 2 lengths conceding 40lbs

As there’s been no activity on this thread for a while, might I break the order and ask this:

Name the only horse to win the Charlie Hall

    after

    winning that season’s Hennessy.
