I would expand, but I’ve got Charlize Theron in here with me tonight, and she’s begging for it.
Hows she looking GH? I remember in that film monster she looked like quite a monster.
Betting is an emotive topic, and people will at times feel inclined to talk about it, if they choose to lie about it then thats up them, they will get nothing from it in the long term.
The only thing I find boring on here is people bitching at each other with no constructive reason and its just make cringeworthy reading IMHO.

I’m sorry if you find my posts cringeworthy, but they are intended to be constructive in trying not to let the forum end up like the BF forum
AS GH states above
What is "interesting" about how much someone else wins or loses
Please do tell me???
February 24, 2008 at 18:37 #146173What is "interesting" about how much someone else wins or loses – especially when the amounts being bandied about cannot be corroborated in any way?

Grasshopper whats it like when she runs her finger’s through your hair
February 24, 2008 at 18:40 #146174The problem is that practically everyone on this forum bets regularly. If we were all to post every time we’ve won or lost the forum would quickly fill with tedious threads.

Spot on Andrew
If forum continues down the road it seems to be going, i will probably not bother logging in anymore
February 24, 2008 at 18:43 #146176The forum is quickly filling with tedious threads, Andrew, and it’s getting beyond a joke.

Is it not possible to put a limit on posts. The fact that someone is adding 500 posts in a month is nothing more than "bandwidth theft"February 24, 2008 at 18:52 #146182I’ve got no problem with someone posting 500 times a month, if they’ve got something insightful and interesting to say. What I do have a problem with is having to sift through page after page of aftertiming, ante-post bets put up after the price has well and truly gone, people’s losses and placepots still going but only mentioned prior to the last leg.
We’re here to discuss horseracing, not the pointlessness of people’s betting (or supposed betting, in the case of aftertimers).

Its not that other peoples bets are particularly fascinating at any particular level, but I myself bet and Ive mentioned several bets that Ive done on here, although I usually try to mention constructive bets, that have a view to having an impact later down the line, because I personally find certain horses very exciting. If people feel to compelled to put up about the bad day theyve had then so, so, I personally am not all that bothered, I think it would be better to show them some guidance or direction.
It is more that I do not wish to see this forum become one that you cannot even mention a bet, for fear of someone going off on one.
I personally find that there are so many different betting/picking styles on here that when you post up a horse who you think may have a chance that you get a broad opinion of that horses chances, from people that are looking from different angles. For example, there are some people that are big on race trends and I find their opinions to often be very informative and thought provoking, and if I disagree with anything I will try to do so constructively, likewise I expect people to disagree with me on occasions too.
I looked at this thread earlier when it was started and just thought "hmmm", and then I later (having noticed it had accrued a few replies) looked to see what the discussion was, and saw that it had become just another in a long list of slagging matches, which I just find to be unnecessary. Im not having a go at you charlie this happens all the time, people just seem to be arguing a lot more than is really called for, over things that arent really worth arguing about.
At times it just seems like there is a lot of malice floating about between forum members, and i think people at times cant be bothered posting on a topic they may be interested in because they dont want to get involved in an ongoing onslaught of abuse, between other members.
February 24, 2008 at 19:47 #146199FFS – I give up

February 24, 2008 at 19:56 #146202Charlie D racing is a sport that thrives on emotion. It also thrives on betting – put the two together …………….
Stop moaning everyone doesn’t have to post what you want if you don’t like a topic ignore it, its not difficult.
I empathise with the original poster since the turn of the year I’ve had a shocking time kept ahead only by the first half of the jumps season. Every time I back something the favourite wins.

OK Flash, i’ll stop moaning and i’ll stop posting too, but don’t let me see you moan when you have
Won’t win, Cant win, Bank job, BOOOOOOOOOOOOM, YEEHAAAA threads all over TRF
February 24, 2008 at 20:04 #146208Seems a bit of a huff-stomp that, Charlie – it’s not necessary.
I’m with Charlie on this, to be honest. Without any context to go on, the amount wagered is an utterly worthless addition to any thread – though I don’t have any real objections to people posting that they are having it tough/good.
February 24, 2008 at 20:04 #146209Wish i hadent started this,i think ill shut my puss from now on

Grass
It comes across that way Grass, but i’m afraid if forum is going to mirror BF forum then i will do exactly same as i did there and that is not to post
No skin of my nose mate, plenty of other forums out there
February 24, 2008 at 20:22 #146217Lets just forget this thread altogether, I wouldnt like to see charlie leave for one, and especially not over something so trivial, This thread is hardly the be all and end all of the forum. I think theres been a few different opinions on this thread however which could be taken on board by everyone, including myself, as to what gets peoples backs up. I never realised that talking about bets was such an area of annoyance, however after cheltenham I dont think as much will be heard of anteposts.
