I like Wolverhampton. The racing may be mostly average but you get a good view of the racing and the track serves its purpose well.
I never visited in the days when it was a dual purpose Turf track. I had forgotten what it looked like!
I can get there almost as quickly as I can to either Chester or Haydock.
How have I missed this , the man’s talents are limitless …

I am not so sure about that. I have seen Derek at various racecourses. Lots of women seem to adore him and his chatter.
On checking the Levy Board’s attendance site, there were only 261 paying customers who had the pleasure of hearing Derek last week. It was quite nice to have a racecourse almost to myself but you have to wonder when the crowd is so small if it would be more economical to race behind closed doors.

Here is Derek getting excited by Born To Rock winning at Yarmouth yesterday. It was a little bit disappointing he did not say “Let’s Rock” in the style of Smashie and Nicie. But at least there was a PHOTO for third place.

Fair play to the bloke, I’d much rather people were genuine and just be themselves, always have respect for that.
Just watched one of the clips of National Hunt racing at Windsor which were posted earlier this week. One clip was a three runner race won by Black Humour, with Derek providing the commentary.
When they went past the post and headed out on their final journey around the figure of 8, Derek said about one of the runners “He is by Over The River – and they are running by the river now!”
