The Yellow Clay 12-1
December 14, 2024 at 12:58 #1715421Supersundae my early bet for this. Really like him, and think he can have a good season.
Edit
Cashed Out
January 18, 2025 at 18:03 #1718350Managed to refrain from backing anything in this yet but my resolve is breaking.
Inn at the Park 33s ew
7 years old and I think that’s not a bad thing for this race, from a staying family. Runs at Thurles tomorrow.
January 21, 2025 at 16:32 #1718576I like Wendigo for this. Thought his run behind the brilliant The New Lion in the Challow saw him crying out for 3 miles.
Can’t get on for 50s with any of the shysters but Unibet’s 40-1 will do me.January 30, 2025 at 16:47 #1719173Having been fortunate to pick STELLAR STORY for this last season and put it up before Christmas on the forum, I’m going to test the waters again and put my Bartlett selection up that I picked months ago before it runs this weekend.
WINGMEN still available at 25/1 ew
WINGMEN grabbed my attention when winning his P2P (available on Youtube) when making a midrace move to beat BACKTONORMAL (who coincidentally runs this weekend and looks tailor made for a handicap plot) by 12 lengths.
Both horses went onto win at the Punchestown festival at the tail end of last season.
NHF campaign he was 2 from 3 and got beaten by William Munny, getting done for a turn of foot,
In his novice hurdle win over 2:4 this season it was at Navan and this was the same venue that STELLA STORY won first time out last season.
WINGMEN made the unusual step of not only travelling over to Cheltenham in December but actually drop down to 2 miles (could not understand that?). A tearaway leader got everything off the bridle and WINGMEN left to do the donkey work in second to drag the rest into the race. Which he did. Skelton won it with COUNTRY MILE doing handstands but WINGMEN just kept on going to finish 7 lengths second over a trip far too short for him.
Last time used as a pace maker the stablemate THE YELLOW CLAY in the Lawlor’s of Naas Grade one and still finished third over 2:4
2:6 Saturday and I’m hoping again to see more improvement being upped in trip and had a bit on at 25/1 ew
Stepping stone to Albert Bartlett and I’ve been topping up all summer at some very juicy prices. That’s it for me this year
WINGMEN 25/1 EW
January 30, 2025 at 16:54 #1719174February 1, 2025 at 13:47 #1719399Cashed out The Yellow Clay as mentioned in another thread and will try Final Demand ew for now.
February 2, 2025 at 16:19 #1719677Cashed out Final Demand trainer says no for this when asked just now.
February 2, 2025 at 17:57 #1719691Willie normally doesn’t run a sort he thinks could be classy in this as it’s often a gruelling affair.
The Yellow Clay would be my fancy at this stage.
February 3, 2025 at 07:23 #1719728The Yellow Clay 5-1 ew nrnb
February 3, 2025 at 08:34 #1719732Like Yogi I backed Stellar Story for this last year and also like Yogi, I’m siding with Wingmen this year. Unlike Yogi I’ve just placed my first antepost bet on him, each way at 20s.
February 3, 2025 at 18:37 #1719766Nice TYT
