It’s never a race I go completely mad on, but as it can throw up some strange results, I try to avoid those who are on the short side.

Having said that, I would be very interested in Jury Duty, and if he retains enough ability, he’s big at 8’s. He’s on the shortlist.

The one I’m definitely betting though is Killaro Boy. He really impressed me a few years back in Ireland, and I thought he’d go on to better things.

He’s clearly had his problems, but his run in The 2019 Grand Sefton offers plenty of encouragement. He took to it well, and looked the winner heading for two out. He emptied quickly though, and wasn’t seen until a Hunters at Leicester earlier this month.

It was a very encouraging comeback after such a long layoff, and would have been closer but for a stumble four or five out. He’ll surely be better for that, and I’ll definitely have an Antepost on him. Currently 20’s, I’m hoping to beat that.

Plenty of old favourites here. Jury Duty was going as well as anything before unseating in the National a couple years back. He’d be on the shortlist.

I always like to look at horses who have run well in the race before and Greensalt could well be worth another look. Road To Rome also falls into that bracket.

I’ll be deep in the cold ground before I abandon Federici! He certainly has plenty to find, but has a great affinity for the fences and I’m always happy to have a sentimental go on him.

Billaway should win this, but he does look a little like a bridesmaid horse. I think I’ll take 33/1 early on Might Stoaway here.

I could make a case for Latenightpass on his run last week. This trip won’t put him out of his comfort zone. I’m happy with the 10-1 which is widely available.

Federecci isn’t getting any younger but he has form over these fences and a good jockey on his back , hope he,s a bit of each way value

I thought Some Man won well last time. He probably needs to improve a bit to win but that is entirely possible and he must have a good each way chance.

Rewritetherules is a big ew price. He has a dose of seconditis in P2Ps but behind decent horses, and ran OK behind Some Man at Down Royal, his jumping having improved for his runs between the flags. He’s a big horse and the tongue tie and his favoured better ground may help him, and he goes well fresh. Trainer and jockey are no dummies. I thought the 66s ew 5pl with Paddy Power worth taking.

Well done to the winner but how did Billaway manage to finish so close after barely jumping a fence properly?

How Cat Tiger survived that error and still lead over the last was some going. Wd if you found the winner.

He must have some engine because he was flat to the boards and jumping poorly for most of the race

The only way anyone backed that winner is if they actually have a cousin called Pascal.
