Added extras to get horses in the stalls

What really rattles me in this country is the "extras" needed to get some horses in the stalls, the 3 O’clock at Ascot was slightly delayed because a monty roberts rug wasn’t at the start.

Now I am not an avid viewer of international racing but do they have this nonsense of needing rugs, a certain horse has to go in last, or without the jockey on etc surely they should be trained to go in without all the nonsense.

Certainly in US racing the horses go in in number order that’s it.

When I see a horse having to have a rug over it’s backside it’s like "what!" if it has an injury fair enough but to say "it won’t go in without one" tough! it doesn’t run then.
