Going to the festival for the first time, i was looking for hotel accommodation but unsure where to stay. I have been to Dublin several times so would rather stay some where else. Needs to be lively!
Would appreciate anyones experience or advice.
Thanks Sid
January 23, 2009 at 00:22 #205889Naas is where the craic is each evening of the festival and its not far in a taxi to the track. Never stayed in Naas so couldnt tell you what hotel/b&b but Id get booking asap!
January 23, 2009 at 02:04 #205919Naas is a fine town.
Curryhill House (cheaper) or Killashee House Hotels are where the racing people might be.January 23, 2009 at 03:39 #205939There are a good few choices in Naas firenuts, what sort of budget do you have per night, remembering that sterling is practically 1:1 with the Euro now?
January 23, 2009 at 12:55 #205989I really like the Punchestown festival – the atmosphere is far less frenetic that at Cheltenham but still be really great – indeed it is one of my favourite meetings in terms of atmosphere.
Personally I commute each day – if you book at the right time you can get very cheap flights – last year I think the most I paid for a return flight was £24, some days it was only £10 return. Even adding in the car parking and car hire it still works out cheaper than staying in a hotel, with the added bonus you get to sleep in your own bed each night.
