For online viewing ATR is less than half the price of RUK. I prefer the more relaxed style of ATR and their website is terrific for ‘casuals’ like me
April 2, 2012 at 17:31 #399144Ascot’s marketing team probably made the decision based on the potential audience on ATR which is clearly bigger than the RUK subscriber base.
On the general point, I know of people who make lots of money on the all weather. Stable consistent surfaces, less changes in track config (3 tracks) and the same pool of horses make it about the easiest form to get a handle on, non?

That’s true but not everybody follows racing for the betting
April 2, 2012 at 17:43 #399147Not denying that. Was referring to the original point.
Personally, I prefer RUK.

So, what you’re saying Paul is that Nevison is the telegraph to Boyce’s Sun and the ability of female racing presenters is directly proportional to their ugliness? How many RUK presenters have ridden or worked in the training or stud industry?
ATR is free to anyone with a cable or satellite package, you don’t have to pay extra for a sports pack and they cover all Irish racing exclusively, almost all AW racing and the majority of the rest of British racing including Ascot, quality inernational racing which isn’t shown elsewhere and they have a very good free website – how can anyone with an interest in racing not like that?
Nicely put sberry
ATR service is quality. I see lot comments about all weather racing. Me personally i love all racing and it not just about gambling and profit , watching The Tatling win his last races before retirement at Wolverhampton made me grin as much as watching Kauto Star. A website with free videos of all races they cover to help us with research. Hard to explain why some would be so anti ATR
April 3, 2012 at 22:11 #399243How many people here has a job that is say 5 days a week and rules out watching racing live of an afternoon? hands up everyone…
This very fact alone makes having Racing UK a total waste of money for me…I work Monday to Friday 9-5…well thats what my contract says is always more tho. And all they show of an evening is racing replays…which i can get free on Sportinglife.com anyway.
As it is I gain free ATR replays on there site so i can see all races "live" from all UK tracks as avoiding results till i can view at night is not that hard.
Makes both tv channels irrelvant!

for those , with not a single brain cell , those with some , and those with loads ….let me PLEASE spell it out
ITS NOT A MATTER OF PREFERENCE….
Its by cutting out all of the racing on one channel , cutting out perhaps 50 per cent of the racing available , and focussing on the better class racing , as a PUNTER , you will have greater success
If you just enjoy watching racing , then please continue to have fun , if you want to make your betting pay , you have to specialise , focus , and most of all cut out the roulette type of racing the bookies thrive on , most of the ATR stuff is low class drivel , (imo )
We have too much racing , if you want to give yourself any chance of winning , you need to be more selective
If you want to continue losing , then go right ahead …remember racing is funded by racing getting a tiny share of what you lose …its crazy but true , they (bha included )want you to lose ..(imo ).so go ahead , do it , just give your money away …
cheers
Ricky
April 4, 2012 at 12:25 #399269Ricky, my point was that A/W represents just as good a betting medium if you’re serious about form study for the reasons I outlined above. If you prefer to bet on better class racing the fair enough but I don’t think it necessarily means its a better betting medium.
