I emailed John Best to inquire about the well-being of his horse Orthodox Lad, you know the horse whose jockey got a lengthy ban for excessive use of the whip under the new whip rules at Salisbury the other day.
John is always very open and runs a nice website that includes a weekly video blog. He informed his viewers a few weeks ago that Orthodox Lad would be winning soon.

He seems well after his run and was certainly not marked in any way Kieren did not hit him very hard. The horse has been pretty consistent all season but is certainly one that needs to be kept up to his work to get the best out of him.
