Why is it so hard for some here to understand that other people may hold alternative views to their own?
    good luck to all

It is not deemed fit to disagree which is a shame
I got called every name under the sun from racist to bigot for slightly differing views even though I put up lads Boxers) of colour and different nationality’s , fed them drove them to their bouts and even sometimes bought their boxing boots. But each person acts differently if their view point is not taken as gospel.

As I have previously stated, different viewpoints can be held where facts are unavailable: for example, you may prefer Coca Cola to Pepsi – there is no way of proving which opinion is correct.

However, where facts exist and are freely available to all, some opinions are provably wrong.

Meanwhile, let’s enjoy watching the RWNJ element try to squirm out of their love of Farrago:

Why is it the pompous self righteous left think that all they say is gospel and cannot be disputed in any way shape or form. They remind me of a certain president over the pond who too thinks anything he or his supporters say cannot be questioned calling any other view ‘fake news’.
When have I ever said I vote/support any right wing party?
Yes I cannot stand Labour for their self righteous politically correct attitude and policies of tax and spend besides most of all their total economic ineptitude.
    good luck to all
(waits for the whining and ‘it’s not our fault’ posts of the whingers and apologists)
(enjoying winding them up more by the day)

Kid your right wing , your views scream it , you love knocking Labour however you look past that fact Badenoch and Farage would have us knee deep in a war just now , thankfully Starmer is a calm and calculated leader , not a fake like Farage and inept like Badenoch

It’s funny how one of the most common accusations thrown at “the left” is that they’re “self righteous” or “pompous”. That’s because our opinions are backed up by evidence, not plucked out of the air willy-nilly.

Tory Kuenssberg having a dig at Labour:

    That makes a change.

Starmer should NOT wilt under pressure from war mongers and should NOT allow the USA to use our bases to attack Iran. This is clearly defying International Law, which Starner says he supports. He should also NOT pander to Reform. Immigrants who have paid taxes here for 5 years or more should be allowed to apply for citizenship.

Sky TV’s much advertised “Saturday Night Live UK” was finally launched last night after weeks of trailers.

I was expecting it to be dreadful but it was actually OK. Maybe my low expectations meant it was always going to seem better.

I was slightly surprised to see it open with a sketch being not very complimentary about Starmer. I was expecting a never ending parade of jokes about Trump.

The actor didn’t quite get Starmer’s voice. At one point he sounded more like Zippy from “Rainbow”.

The best joke of the evening was when Tina Fey said in her opening monologue “Why do a UK version of SNL? Well, like a lot of large scale American operations nowadays, no one really knows why.”

Passably amusing, your reference to Zippy being the highlight, with the perfectly placed canned laughter runner-up

Who was the young fella supposed to be, Owen Jones?

I was expecting a never ending parade of jokes about Trump.

As someone remarked – I think in reference to the parade of wannabes at the Edinburgh Fringe – ‘Trump and Brexit are ideal subjects for commonplace comedians’

Shows like this “Saturday Night Live UK” aren’t and never have been my sort of thing: too noisy and forced

What I have found worthwhile on Sky News is ‘The Wrap’, their new effort on the 10pm news slot. Naff title but the melding of presenters Anna Botting and Gillian Joseph with – in the main – two decent hacks works well and results in some decent and reasonably in-depth analysis.

“Shows like this “Saturday Night Live UK” aren’t and never have been my sort of thing: too noisy and forced.”

The studio audience had clearly been told to crank up the volume to 11.

The reviews have been mixed to cautiously positive, which I think is fair. I honestly thought it would bomb but it was better than that.

As with the original SNL, not everything worked. I think that is particularly the case for sketch type comedy and topical humour. But the cast are all accomplished performers and some of the sketches were quite funny. Enough to make me watch next week anyway.

It might be a better test for the show next Saturday. Tina Fey, as an SNL veteran, was a strong opening night host. Will any of the other hosts be able to match her?

The problem we all have these days because of the way our voting systems work is that some individuals have too much power. Trump does as he likes because nobody dare challenge him and Starmer has a massive majority so he cannot be bothered to ask the House of Commons or his MP’s. So both make horrific mistakes. Trump starts an illegal and unwinnable war and Starmer lets him use our bases to attack Iran. Absolute madness!

    Dan Hodges (published 22 March)
    (headlines)
All leaders can lie when it suits them. But after watching Keir Starmer’s performance over the Mandelson affair, our columnist delivers this devastating verdict ….
The most politically dishonest, deceitful and disreputable PM I have ever known.
Just ask yourself how and why this conclusion was reached?
    good luck to all

“Just ask yourself how and why this conclusion was reached?”

It was reached because Dan Hodges is a RWNJ and has apparently forgotten about the many lies spouted by one of his heroes, Bozo.
