As the legend that is Native River has now retired I now have a space to fill in a horse to love , I’ll be honest despite him not fulfilling his potential I’ll always follow Battleoverdoyen however a need a new love , I wish there was a sim type to Native out there but I can’t see it , I am tempted by bravemansgame but guys I’m open to suggestions

It’s a thin line between loving a horse and having a “cliff horse” as a punter you can’t ever be objective about.

As TTC says, a dog might be cheaper.

Energumene? Front runner, eats fences, has “plucky loser or heroic underdog streetfighting winner?” potential with the posh, urbane, talented Shishkin to run against.

VF I am tempted by Galvin , sim profile to Native , dubbed a handicapper but now coming good , to be fair it was Bobby who put him up as a horse to follow

Honeysuckle meeh too clinical , Engerumene , picking him would be like chatting up the 2nd prettiest girl in the pub , while at the bar Miss Shiskin is a standing in a little black dress giving you the eyes , sorry anyway it has to a stayer , GC/Nat horse

HDLG- how about Galopin Des Champs?

Like your recently retired hero, he’s a bold jumping front runner (well, he was today) and surely a Gold Cup horse of the future?

Did Native River have any predecessors HDLG, or was this your first love? He is certainly a tough act to follow!

Grey Abbey , my uncle’s sister was one of owners , he,s the main reason I love bold front runners , I also loved Lord Windermere , more so because he won me so much when winning the GC , and because I felt like the only person in the world who backed him , akin to Al Co winning the scot national at 66s , I screamed him home surrounded by silence

Ah, Grey Abbey was such a wonderful horse too. Although Galvin meets the “tough stayer” category, I don’t think anyone would describe him as a bold front runner!

Hopefully one of the current novices will step up :-)

He isn’t a front runner but maybe a underdog , I’m warming to the thought , Abbey is still the best jumper of a fence I’ve seen , in the 2005 Charlie hall he jumped one the the fences with front legs straight out , never seen it before will never see it again , I got soaked in the pissing rain the day he won the scot national off top weight , great day
