Is the Universe and its creation just a huge experiment that got out of hand? Behind every action there has to be an objective so what’s the end goal of all of this about? Are we who we think we are or to the creator are we no different then the kind of ‘people’ we see in virtual computer games? Is this life and death thing just about someone playing a game of challenge and can we be re-created just at the push of a button?
If anyone can come up with the definitive answer I’ll be most grateful because it’s very frustrating not knowing what it’s all about and what purpose it all serves.
KMarch 26, 2010 at 09:05 #285648Ken, what evidence
do you
have that the universe exists?
March 26, 2010 at 09:09 #285650I think I see where you’re coming from, Pompete. Are you part of my dream or am I part of yours?

March 26, 2010 at 17:51 #285758I am very disappointed that none of the Racing Forum’s members have used the word teleological so far on this thread.
As in, "Ken, you have fallen into the teleological error. There is no effing purpose!"
A common example of this is people taking the simple anthropocentric view in asking the question "what is the point of wasps?"
In response to my apparent nihilism, you may ask what is the point of living, or how do we live?
Not enough of (or at all) a poet to reply to the former, but as to the latter, the only real truth religion has to offer, "Do as to others, as you would want them to do to you."
Rawles becomes the new God.

Is it obvious that I’ve suffered a fair (or unfair) bit of seconditis this week and would just like to ask whoever is responsible for this big hamster wheel why it is that my long-standing incredible optimism is not justly rewarded?Just a bit of wealth would be greatly appreciated. The sort of wealth that all other TRF’ers seem to enjoy.
