Where does one start, a very exciting days racing ahead!!
Chepstow
2.00 EUROPEAN DREAM is 7lb wrong here so hardly optimum, however, this horse as vastly improved during the flat season winning 4 races (H`cap mark rising from 77 to 100+), he comes from a stable in great form, the easy track should suit , the early 8`s are gone but the 7`s available still look good value taking into consideration how much this horse as improved!
2.35 THE GANGERMAN 11-4 General), was going well when capsizing at the 5th last when last seen on this racecourse over a year ago, the winner “Hot n Holy“ went on to achieve a rating of 125, he should be capable of about the same which makes him the horse to beat, TD as his horses in good form thus the “time out“ can be seen as a positive rather than a negative,PETIT LORD is no mug but i doubt he will be as progressive as the betting market suggests,VIVID IMAGINATION makes little appeal despite having chase experience on his side!
3.40 SERABAD (3-1) i put him in at 2`s so i was surprised to see some early 4`s , in fact RP put him in at 6`s last night although they have become a little more realistic since then, excellent form on the level in France, progressive and lightly raced, just got to jump in my opinion, FRANCHOEK was put in as fav which baffles me somewhat, that was a very disappointing run at Market Rasen and this race is much stronger, whilst he looks like an hurdler the current 2s is somewhat ridiculous, i was 7-2,QRACKERS as joined a powerful stable, all the same his form is nothing special and the early 3`s is an insult, i make him 6`s and that includes taking into account connections, his province form is mediocre to say the least, the other one slightly overpriced is DAYLAMI DREAM, trainer is under-rated and horse as some reasonable form, place prospect!
4.15 PERTINENT at 5.9 BF, won an AQPS in decisive fashion before excellent hurdling debut at Auteuil where he was just touched off, winners have come out of that race and they where someway behind on that occassion, i like his price in comparison to the unbeaten bumper horse THEATRICAL MOMENT, still needs to prove he can jump!
BANGOR
4.00 OUR JASPER 5.2 BF appears to be stables 2nd string, however,i think this horse looks more like a chaser than his flat bred stablemate SUNDAY CITY, ACES OR BETTER will be a tough nut to break but theirs no value into taking the 5-4 and he has a penalty to carry!
4.35 KING CYRUS 4.5 BF should be fav in my mind, whilst form is nothing special these look a backward lot, saying that i wish the RP where bookies as the 16-1 forecast for WHITEOAK was an insult!!
HEXHAM
2.15 HOBBS HILL (7-4) Very exciting chaser making the journey north for an easy introduction, Jimmy Mac taking the ride for a trainer that knows how to get them ready (Best in UK in my opinion), hopefully, fastish going won`t concern, jump them ragged from the front,Rose Davidson will have to be at her best to get MODICUM near enough and MADISON looks a better hurdler than chaser
2.45 ARTLESS in receipt of 14lbs is very interesting against the jolly, 80+ rated flat horse looks an interesting recruit for top stable!
4.25 TOT O WHISKY if fit will win
Have a nice day
October 14, 2007 at 19:15 #119470Sunday City was going really well when he came down at the last, don’t know what the outcome of the race would have been had he stood up – can’t wait to see Whiteoak run right handed – wish we’d read your post before we set off for Bangor; however was told to back Boadai in the 3.25, so quite a successful afternoon.
