**** sake we got another year of this sociopath talking about trading leather and when he put it up.
June 29, 2013 at 17:46 #444362Nice one Gordio! You always had faith in that horse and he justified it today. Tough and gutsy performance. Well done mate!
Yes Joni,it hurt deeply him not running at Epsom, was on at 90’s down to a 5 figure victory!
Today I’ll settle for the £900 I lost Ante-Post on him…….plus a little extra on top!
Cheers Mate!June 29, 2013 at 17:48 #444363[expletive] sake we got another year of this sociopath talking about trading leather and when he put it up.
I’m dedicating that victory to you HorseyBoy! Victory is sweet at 16/1 down, thats a lot of Smarties to you sugar plum!
June 29, 2013 at 18:52 #444374Anyone fancy Trading Leather for the Irish Derby?
Had a look at the betting today and he is 16/1 with Stan James. Paddy Power only go 9/1
Not all the big firms have priced the race up yet but Ruler Of The World is best priced 15/8 with Stan James, Libertarian about 4/1 and Battle Of Marengo 6/1.
I see no reason why Battle Of Marengo would reverse placings with those who finished ahead of him at Epsom.
I think Ruler Of The World might be a good thing having beaten most of those behind him in the betting, looks like he has the best tactical speed and surely has potential to improve again having gone from maiden to group 3 to group 1 in three races.
Excellent tipping Steve!
Right horse, right race.
First to tip an ante-post winner yet again!Well done for spotting Trading Leather Gord, you deserve some credit for that. Shame you didn’t put him up for the Irish Derby as an actual bet (towards the thread total) though. "A Different Approach" still waiting for its first winner.
Value Is EverythingJune 29, 2013 at 19:10 #444377Gord – well done today – Manning had him in the perfect position throughout.
What about good old Tax Free last night!! Dandy’s in fair form at the moment – pretty much a winner a day this week. Two runners today at Newcastle and a 3rd at 33/1 with Rodrigo.
June 29, 2013 at 19:13 #444378It helped a lot that the Epsom 1-2 ran stinkers. On a line through Galileo Rock the favourite should have been right there but he was far enough back early on and never really picked up the way he did at Epsom. Libertarian looked a pretty slow horse today.
It makes you wonder how good Magician was in beating today’s winner and Royal Ascot winner Gale Force Ten so readily in the Irish 2000 Guineas?
As for Trading Leather, it seems certain he was kept away from Epsom to clear the way for Dawn Approach and we’ll never know how it would have panned out. Perhaps missing Epsom was a good thing and he’s a horse going the right way now, compared to the 1st two there who are on recovery missions now.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

What can you say about good old
Tax Free
that I haven’t said eh Oasis? Class 4 handicaps his measure these days but it still paid 10/1 to the loyals, who still show a loss on the horse!Funnily enough I’m having lunch with the him tomorrow!
Ginge another winner on the thread for those who read it,those who contribute on here dont need 55 points,26 points and 15 points on a loser and 1 point saver on the winner that still shows a loss!
TAPK is ‘The Ante-Post King’ unbelievably well named………Not a ginger haired numpty that cant commit to one horse per race like good judges with self belief can.You stick to depending on Timeform and losing and I’ll stick to those who contribute on this thread, they know more than you numbers boys.I still P*ss myself at Timeforms assessment that ‘Battle of Marengo’ was a 14lb better horse than anything else at Royal Ascot!! TAPK layed him like he said he would, its all part of ‘A Different Approach’!

Bloody roll on, how many usernames have you gone through Mr Wilson? It must be close to beating Equitrack’s record of 38. I hope they are not all still active as Ginger might challenge for poster of the year if they are.
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
June 29, 2013 at 20:29 #444394Well Gord keep off the bouncy castle and rodeo after lunch or it might all go belly up!!
Just make sure West Leake Hare has eaten his grub.

My old palFunfair Wane
will get a mention,he was a beast of a horse and seriously mad as a hatter,I remember standing in an open paddock with Dandy one day and ‘Funfair’ was rolling around as we entered he looked across and thundered straight at us,I Sh*t myself silly as this horse came thundering at us but Dandy said stand still,I did and ‘Funfair’ piled on the brakes and stopped barely a couple of feet away. After the Sawdust Cloud of wood chippings cleared and the smell of fear left my trousers Dandy just laughed and slapped the big horse down the shoulder,a Woman stood next to us chirped "Has this horse ever won a race"? I looked at her with that ‘What a stupid bitch you are look’ and Dandy politely said yes he’s won 2 Ayr Gold cups!It never ceases to amaze me how Horseracing attracts some right thick folk, some contribute to Racing forums like this!!
June 29, 2013 at 21:17 #444411Superb Gord.
Enjoy tomorrow – maybe see one or two pics on TRF eh!

It’s just a shame you did not have the confidence to put Trading Leather up (as you like to put it) with "real money" for the Irish Derby after doing so for
both
Epsom Derby and Irish 2000 Guineas. Without putting it up as a bet Trading Leather just goes down as another one
mentioned in passing
. But am sure unlike all the others mentioned that
lose
– we will here a good deal more of this one Gord.
Well done anyway.
You criticised me for following Timeform in the post about Thomas Chippendale Gord. Yet I backed Thomas Chippendale @ 13.5/1 (SP only 8/1) in a race where he was
6 lbs below
Timeform Top Rated and did
not
figure in their 1-2-3. As you well know Gord, I use my
own knowledge
with Timeform as my
form book
, just as you use the internet etc to
help
.
I know you’ve got a grudge against Timeform Gord, really
hope
you’ve just got a wrong piece of information from somewhere. I’d hate to think you deliberately
lied
to do them
down
and
big
yourself up.
Battle Of Merengo was5 lbs
clear on Timeform Ratings,
not 14 lbs
as you claim… And others had "p"’s and "P"’s for further
improvement likely
… and in a race where over the years many Derby horses
fail
to give their running. It was obvious to me Battle Of Merengo needed opposing at the prices. May be Timeform deserve an apology?
Am glad you believe you deserve great credit for
laying
Battle Of Merengo Gord.
Laying
one horse is exactly the same as
backing every
other horse in the field! In this case you backed
7 horses in one race!
Hope you never criticise me again for backing multiple selections. Why didn’t you do as i did Gordie Boy, and back ONLY two.
Oneeach way
Mustashaded @ 8/1 (SP 11/2)
placed
, and one
win only
Hillstar @ 9/1 (SP 15/2) who
won
… And all this after reading Timeform, who you criticise for their rating of Battle Of Merengo.

Ginge you really haven’t got a clue about laying horses, you haven’t got one for backing them either, you need loads!
I’m rather tiddled tonight as I’m celebrating another legendary coup of mine but back to the point you so wrongly raise. If I lay a horse in running at 1/5 like I did ‘Battle of Marengo’ and have £500 on him do you realise how much I actually stand to Win or Lose should the horse Win or Lose?? Think about it before answering you muppet!
June 30, 2013 at 07:26 #444435Ginger one: could you give us a profit/loss merely for your Ascot selections please? Will make interesting reading, cheers
June 30, 2013 at 10:31 #444452So would his figures for Aintree, Gdc1, but why separate them out into small little pockets like that when, as i`m sure you`ll agree, this is very much a long term game?
Nice winner Gordie, and you were adamant in the morning earlier, and to Steve too – well played. Will he be something really special, well, jury`s out for me but yesterday was definitely his day and nice to see O`Brien`s recent stranglehold on the race broken.
June 30, 2013 at 10:59 #444457I’m interested to see how backing numerous horses in one race at Royal Ascot has compared to us who backed only 1 or 2 and generally lost, that’s all – that OK with you Softie?
