They know Al Kazeem wont run in the first place that’s why they were 11/4 where everyone else was 2/1. I say fill your boots with the 12’s and tell um to sign on when they go bust.

June 24, 2013 at 20:17 #443917My mood is the same as always Ginge,Win Lose or Draw!
That’s not what it seems to me. Outbursts always coming when you’re at a low eb, either personally or "horseracingly". We are all susceptible Gord, indeed it is only natural to be a bit down after 26 losing bets. But be careful if you don’t recognise mood swings when looking back (afterwards). Suggest asking those close to you if they notice a change; as strong mood swings can be indicative of something physically wrong. I speak from experience.
I will make allowances for your mood (for now) Gord.
Thats very kind of you Ginge, making allowances for me losing 26 times but rest assured if it really bothered me do you think I would post it on a public forum?? You do realise that everyone who reads this thread laughs at how light hearted I take things whilst P*ssing themselves how you take things so seriously.I tell it as it is Ginge,I can spot a good un from a bad un and I can certainly spot a plonker, you fall into the latter category everytime…Hook,Line and sinker!

Never thought of that Nath! They are basically luring those who haven’t read Roger Charltons plan change knowing they will lose their money Ante-Post taking their huge 11/4!! The 12/1 will have gone by the morning when Sid in security wakes up!
June 24, 2013 at 21:32 #443929APK, long time reader of your posts and big fan of your write-ups. Having won in the region of £300 last week in free bets at Royal Ascot I am looking to invest these towards the Chelt Festival next Spring. However, I need to place these bets by the end of the week. Looking to split the bets up between 1 or 2 races at this stage ( the bets are in £25 denominations) and looking for some advice on investment strategies. I already have £100 on MTOY @ 10/1 and £50EW on First Lieutenant @ 16/1 for the Gold Cup as well as £100 on SDC @ 8/1. Have you got any thoughts on the Arkle or Supreme Nov at this stage??? Any thoughts much appreciated….
June 24, 2013 at 21:36 #443931How did I deserve that?
Sorry to P*ss on your fireworks Sir Harry but your 25 losing bets is one less than my 26 at Royal Ascot!
That explains your mood Gord.
You’ve got a short memory Ginge it was only a couple of years back when you had 26 losers in one race and the only one you didn’t back you layed.

June 24, 2013 at 21:53 #443936LoL Nathan that made me spit coffee everywhere
I’ve jumped aboard and Billy’s are still offering 12s!
June 25, 2013 at 01:01 #443945Did anyone else see Charlton’s filly Hiking in the opener at Windsor last night?
She destroyed a field including colts, one of whom was the warm Hannon favourite, by six lengths with any amount of ease, in eyecatching fashion. Either she’s pretty special, or they were donkeys. Surely she’ll step up in class next time and at 12/1 she couldn’t have looked that forward beforehand.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

‘Thelastfling’,not everyone has priced the ‘Arkle’ or ‘Supreme’
but those that have are taking no chances withBriar Hill
8/1fav,he would be an obvious selection when you consider how easy he won the Bumper but when you dig a bit deeper into his profile he looks a staying sort, related to the very smart Gold cup ‘Dark horse’
Boston Bob
.I could see him be aimed at the ‘Neptune’ rather than the 2 miler so I’m not going to suggest him.I see the Cecil mud lover
First Mohican
is being touted as a ‘Supreme’ sort too but he wont enjoy the Good ground we come to expect in March,I think its more to do with the owner than anything else there.I like
Regal Encore
at 16/1 and this ‘Sprinter Sacre’ lookalike
West Wizard
at 20/1 as I write,I have backed both at the prices. As for the Arkle I wouldn’t put anyone off backing
Rock on ruby
at 10/1,he ticks a lot more boxes than anything else currently,I haven’t backed anything in it myself though yet.Hope this helps.
By the way,you dont have Ginger hair do you?June 25, 2013 at 10:15 #443961How did I deserve that?

Nath, thats the funniest post the year! Seems to have shut the Ginger one up too!!

I think she falls into the pretty special category Steve myself,She dwelt at the start was somewhat outpaced, scrubbed along and looked like she was going knowhere, that would have been enough to say it will educate her had she come in 6th or 7th place……….But she gets to the 3 pole and all of a sudden picks up the bridle,James encourages an effort and all rather effortlessly she picks up under hands and heels and runs away from them.Well spotted. She’s a
First Defence
filly out of a homebred mare and the breeding looks interesting, time will tell but she’s still slightly leggy so there’s scope there! Very likeable.

My opinion doesn’t count for a lot but I like the look of West Wizard for the Supreme, I know for a fact that Nicky Henderson is very fond of him as well.

Well the donk reason is that his birthday’s the day after mine. But the more viable reasoning is the way he raced, he didn’t seem to mind where in the field he was (but seemed happy enough amongst the others) and cruised past his opposition without ever looking like tiring. Can’t remember how strongly run the race was but as it was on soft I can’t imagine stamina being an issue. Another donk-ish reasoning is with Henderson just failing with Darlan and MTOY in recent years "he has to have a winner eventually"
Emailed paddypower for odds on him for the SNH about 2 months ago and they quoted me 16/1, I gladly didn’t take it and see you’ve grabbed 20’s! Might have to do the same.

I’ll tell you what I dont like Ben and that is this fellows a big backward sort,he does remind me of the sort of profile that
Sprinter Sacre
had as a 4yo and we all know he was still too immature to be a ‘Supreme’ horse, like his stable companion he will make a better Chaser than hurdler but like you say
Binocular
,
Sprinter Sacre
,
Spirit Son
,
Darlan
and
MTOY
have all been beaten in the ‘Supreme’ a race I target and one Nicky deserves to win,it could be with this fellow if the penny drops. What I do like is his breeding,I’m a big fan of
Kings Theatre
,he was my 1994 Derby horse and this fellows related to a lovely colt called
High Estate
of Jim Joels,he wasn’t a brilliant colt but moved like a Rolls Royce, something
West Wizard
has inherited from their Dam.Early days I know and this fellow doesn’t have the sharpness of
Darlan
the bulk of
Spirit son
or the athleticism of
MTOY
but he could be mistaken on a dark night for a beast that would beat the lot over fences……
Sprinter Sacre
.
June 25, 2013 at 12:38 #443980For biased reasons I’m hoping Empiracle makes up into a realistic contender for one of the novice hurldes at the festival. He looked to have plenty of speed on his only start in a poor bumper so I’d say it will be either the Supreme or Ballymore for him if he’s good enough. They rate him as good or better than Melodic Rendezvous which gives me plenty of hope
June 25, 2013 at 19:42 #444006Thanks for the comments guys.
Needed dome Cheltenham therapy to help me get through the flat season. As nice as it is to go racing with the sun on your back in the Summer I just don’t get the same buzz out of 5f sprint h’capper as I do seeing a charge tackling obstacles over 3m. Particularly excited about this upcoming season as we bought a horse at the sales nearly 3 years ago with the sole intention of sending him over fences and he’ll begin his novice campaign this season!
Interesting thoughts on the Supreme nov with the obvious selections being touted at this stage. West Wizard is the intriguing one and will draw obvious comparisons with Sprinter Sacre but as TAPK states it could well be a year too early for this one. The one that catches my eye is Golantilla at 20s who possesses a real turn of foot and could make up into a legit Grade 1 contender. Regal Encore I also like but don’t want to be on Briar Hill at single odds so far from the day of the race.
Oh, and I don’t have Ginger hair I presume that is in reference to the forum’s sun kissed tipster but I may have missed the punch line, ney the entire pun!
June 25, 2013 at 20:26 #444011It doesn’t matter how many times you watch
War Commands
Coventry romp trying to devalue the credibility of the horse you just cant. His full brother ‘War Bird’ was useless but he was tried over 11/4m so you just cant imagine the Coolmore colt wont get a mile easily. He fell out the stalls last week and was held up last,he was one of the first to come under pressure,a sign in itself he needs further. At the 2 pole Seamie is getting after his 20/1 shot whilst Joseph is still travelling on the 5/2 fav
Stubbs
,for every urge from Seamie,’War Command’ responded and to see him pulling further and further clear at the line certainly impresses visually. The horse himself looks a big strong colt and further improvement looks a formality.7/1 could still seem generous come the day of reckoning next May when he’s 1/2fav.I’ve looked at
Berkshire
as a possible danger but collateral form through ‘Jallota’ suggests even this imposing colt needs to improve a stone just to get near this Monster of a colt ‘War Command’.I like
Emirates Flyer
as a horse of potential too but at the moment I’ll see what
Stubbs
does next time out before re-grouping.
Incidentally for those of us who swear by the clock, the last horse to come home in 1m12secs wasHenrythenavigator
and he went on to win the 2000gns!
