Barry

I would guess that the number of ew bets you took is only a very small proportion of the total taken, and, at 20% (The actual difference in the place over-rounds) of 1/5th the odds a place, constitute a negligible amount compared to the doubling of the profit on the win bets.
Also, why are the reps hedging with you, if bookies other than the ew ones are offering better prices, unless it is deliberately to screw Joe Public?

Barry you say you make the place market 100% as it was overbroke. Okay. In that case do you make the place market 100% in every race? Nope. You see you are screwing plenty of money out of the punters in the otherrace where the place market is probably 120-150%:o 20 runner maidens for example, so I don’t think you can claim to be getting the thin edge of the wedge.

If you want to do it fairly, why not make all of the place markets 100%? Hell go mad and make it 110%.

.. just a big scam, to fleece betting shop punters, as it is designed to do.

Anyone backing anything more than £2 at SP needs their head tested.
:(

It does beg the question of what the ratio is of Lads/Hills/BD’s on-course trade to their SP trade.

Unbelievable that Donoghue changed the rules to allow firms whose incentive to compete for on-course trade is far outweighed by off-course considerations. Then again given how well such firms have looked after him maybe not so unbelivable in this sleaze-ridden administration where honours, legislation, supercasinos and SP reforms are all sold to the highest bidder.
