Can’t believe Ropey Guest made in there BB, pleased with that.
He’s one I’m really looking forward to next year.I actually posted on another forum about this horse, complaining that this is a horse that runs in group races and hasn’t even won a race, not even a maiden.
I see that he entered on Saturday, 28 September 2019 – 1:50 (Early closer) at Newmarket Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2) (1m), do you think that the connections think a lot about this horse and maybe might be aiming a little too high, the old adage used to be, win your maiden first.
Mike.
August 29, 2019 at 14:30 #1452355I’ve followed the yard for years BB, they’re very good at getting the best out of them, when the price is right, but as you say, I’ve seen a few of them given rather lofty entries before.
August 30, 2019 at 10:37 #1452383I could swear they had a horse similar to this in the past VTC that was highly tried and had to go back + win a maiden after a few big runs? Had a flick through his horses on RP and couldn’t find it though.

September 2, 2019 at 12:20 #1452708Any views on Gosden pair
PALACE PIER Won 7f maiden at Sandown very well
CAPE PALACE Bolt up at Newcastle to when you think stars from yard won 1st race on AW like Enable,Stravadiuis could be another
PASSION won on 2nd start for AOB looks a nice one for middle distances
September 2, 2019 at 13:44 #1452714Got to be keeping a sharp eye on
KAMEKO now Darren after that dazzling 2nd to Positive on Saturday.
By Kitten’s Joy it would be nice for him to pay a tribute to
the great Roaring Lion.
Early days yet but progressing nicely and he does hold a Derby entry.

September 8, 2019 at 12:41 #1453174Not the biggest shock to see Ropey Guest well beaten yesterday, but very definitely one to keep in mind for next year.
Cherokee Trail was very impressive, and he’ll surely develop into a smart horse.

On the speed figure front, Cherokee Trail earned a figure of 45 with Ropey Guest a pitiful figure of 37.

There is a known bug in excel where some lines go out of sync when you sort which I had noticed recently, it’s very strange that the 2 horses you mentioned were trained by John Gosden!
Cape Palace – 48
Palace Pier – 54Mike.
September 9, 2019 at 14:42 #1453240I did try the find function also and it didn’t flag up the two of them
Thanks Mike.September 12, 2019 at 20:27 #1453791Enemy of John Gosden looks a smart one, beat a decent Godolphin type at Ascot with the pair coming well clear. Wasn’t given a hard time to win it very much given an experience not going all out. Has Derby entry, possibly a little lofty but he looks smart. The Stoute horse back in 3rd Crystal Pegasus also made a pleasing debut, will come on hugely for a run, Stoute’s debut 2yo’s only strike at 10.89% for debut jumping to 24.89% for having had one run and will be a 3yo project to do much better over further next season.
September 13, 2019 at 23:54 #1454803I’ve really liked the look of Molatham the last twice.
Looks to have a really good attitude, I’ll be interested in him next season definitely.
September 16, 2019 at 08:52 #1455140On my speed figures, at the Curragh yesterday Pinatubo earned a figure of 94, Frankel as a 2yo was 1lb better at 95
The Interesting thing for me was the RPR of 128 awarded to Pinatubo, this equals the 128 RPR awarded to Kingman as a 3yo, for the record, Kingman earned the highest debut speed figure of 85 as a 2yo.

September 18, 2019 at 10:11 #1457799Some lovely newcomers out today potentially worth watching out for.
Sandown- Byzantine Empire, well related and blew his start on debut before running a very nice race. Stoute’s and Appleby’s are also worth watching in it. Could be a decent race.
Over in Naas, Sunday Sweet off a layoff will be interesting to watch, considering the form of her debut. Also in that race Elfin Queen cost a small fortune and Love Locket looks well related as well.
Fancy Blue by Deep Impact, Mazara and Brinjal look nice too. Especially love seeing the Juddmonte colours with Ger Lyons and it being a Kingman!

Then there’s Battle Of Liege and St James Square…wow!

Queen Daenerys . a Frankel filly out of a Storm Cat mare….
early days yet but nice to have a good look at her yesterday in tbe pre parade, paddock and she was especially eye catching going to post.Progressing in the right direction she could well be a Nell Gwyn contender 2020.
