Thunder Snow is desperately weak in the 2.00 Leicester.

After generally being 6/4 Fav last night, he’s now 4/1 in places and that’s some drift. The money has been for Evergate and he does have that advantage of a first run under his belt.

Gosden’s Hyde Park seems steady at about 5/1 for each-way fans.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Well they couldn’t give Thunder Snow away in the betting but he finished with a rattle to win comfortably.

Gosden’s Hyde Park was gambled in but never looked like winning. He’ll be better next time.

I thought Evergate was very tenderly handled today. To me it looked like the jockey needed to be getting after him from a fair way out but he pretty much just sat there all the way to the line in finishing third.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

The two Frankel fillies from Roger Charlton’s yard that I mentioned earlier in the thread, Fair Eva and Occurence, both got entries for The Moyglare, so that seems encouraging.

Bound from O’Brien’s stable takes the eye as a Galileo daughter of Remember When, who ended up second in Snow Fairy’s Oaks.

Dermot Weld has Switch In Time, who is by Galileo out of Switch, who was rated 116 on the dirt in the USA and she was very consistent, finishing in the first three 17 times in a 23 race career. She was second in the Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Sprint in 2011.

Jim Bolger has Dawn Of A New Era, who is by New Approach out of Hymn Of The Dawn, which makes her a full sister to Guineas winner Dawn Approach.

There are a lot of well bred ones in there but these are the ones who caught my eye.

I’ll get back to you on the colts later.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Great performance from Thunder Snow Steve, was unlucky as I did him in a reverse forecast with Evergate 1st and 3rd  But as you say Evergate not treated harshly and perhaps he still has a few pounds to lose (mine mostly!!!) or perhaps because the ground turned soft after the deluge of rain which caused the meeting to be abandoned, he will definitely have another chance to shine but all credit to Thunder Snow today…Jac :good:

My views on unraced horses for national stakes are that Bolger only has 2entries which is a bit of shock so could be low on top 2yo colts.

RICH HISTORY for Weld looks nice sort on paper derby entry to looks nice middle distance colt on breeding.

DIODORIOUS for AOB another middle distance colt to look out for as well

    Any views on these steve

And this friday the 1st 7f maiden at Leopardstown i can’t wait for it 7f maidens when 2yo races start to pick up for me

Diodorus caught my eye as a son of Galileo out of Divine Proportions. She was a very talented filly, although I am not sure if she has had anything special as a Dam.

Yucatan is also in training with Aidan O’Brien and he is bred on similar lines, being by Galileo out of Six Perfections, who was a similar filly to Divine Proportions. Again I am not sure of any good offspring from the filly who won at the Breeders Cup.

Rich History could be a good type by Dubawi out of Polished Gem, who was the mother of Free Eagle but Dermot Weld just never seems to end up with a runner at Epsom very often, so that’s something to bear in mind for ante-post purposes.

    Douglas MacArthur
cost a packet and being by Galileo out of Alluring Park, is a full brother to Oaks winner Was and £5 million flop filly Al Namaah, obviously that scenario demonstrates that it could be a coin toss how this match and any of the others turns out really. We can only speculate and anticipate for now but hopefully some of them show promise.

Aidan has several of his National Stakes entries entered up from Friday through to Monday, so we may see some of these horses shortly.

Queen Kindly (Frankel-Lady Of The Desert (Rahy)) runs tomorrow 1.50 Catterick.
Born 14th January she should be an early 2yo and hopefully Frankel’s first filly winner. :good:
Very short odds I’ve done her separately and in a forecast with Katebird…Jac

Aidan has several of his National Stakes entries entered up from Friday through to Monday, so we may see some of these horses shortly.

Aidan had three of these entered in the opener at Leopardstown this evening.

    They finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

War Decree prevailed as 2/1 favourite from Order Of The Garter by a length and a half and it was 5 lengths further back to Sir Edwin Landseer.

Order Of The Garter tried to make all and he made it tough for the winner to wear him down. He looks a shoo in for a maiden next time.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Steve maybe i am 12 months to early for a Dermot Weld derby winner though might be like London buses wait for ages then 2 come in a row maybe RICH HISTORY can do that at Epsom next year

Any views on my bet for Coventry YALTA 8/1 is 2 from 2 form might not be great but trainer won race last year and done well with 2yos this a big horse looks like a 3yo now so while he may not be a 2000 guineas horse no doubt from he can win group races this year.

Mark Johnston flew out of the blocks with his 2yo runners this season Darren.

I am wondering which way they will go from here though.

Chupalla made a terrific start in winning easily first time out but I had a bad feeling about her when she disappointed behind Global Applause and Mehmas last time. She had been off for a couple of months, which seemed odd when there were other prizes to be plundered with a filly who looked precocious.

The Last Lion was another to make a good start and then get beaten twice since, so I just wonder how they will progress.

Buratino kept his form well last year and landed the Coventry as you say but sometimes I worry about Mark Johnston’s youngsters progressing and in general it’s never been a stable I can fathom out. A recent one was Galician who I fancied but she looked lifeless and ran like a drain, only to hose up in a handicap at 33/1 next time out. That’s Johnston all over for me and I just leave them alone because there is no rhyme nor reason as to when to back them.

Looking at Yalta, he made an excellent start and the race he won at Goodwood has worked out quite well. He floored a 1/2 Fav in the form of Afandem from the Hugo Palmer stable that day, but the 2nd Repton and the 4th Pleaseletmewin both won next time, albeit that it’s nothing outstanding as of yet.

Yalta was hot favourite next time and won easily from some previous winners but the form level was such that Yalta is only rated 97 for now on Racing Post figures and he needs to find more to win a Coventry.

It’s entirely possible he could improve enough to land the Coventry and he’s a fine specimen with size and scope. He’s clearly not short of pace and led all the way last time for a comfortable success.

Yalta shapes like a sprinter for the moment and he could meet other fast runners in the Coventry, some of whom are stepping up from 5F, potentially at least.

Psychedelic Funk is one with a shout from Ireland and it seems, judging by the Norfolk betting, that Aidan’s Caravaggio may be swerving that race for a tilt at the Coventry.

I feel Caravaggio is the best colt I have seen so far this season and I felt I had to back him at 4/1 for The Coventry to cover my bet at 10/1 in the Norfolk, as it seems like he will miss the 5F race. Paddy Power pushed him out to 6/1 for The Norfolk and he had generally been 3/1 prior to the slide.

I see a few in the Coventry betting who are unlikely to run, as they have yet to make their debuts and time is running out to start their career and then quickly line up at Royal Ascot.

Yalta looks a nice type and seems sure to give a good account in group company this year. I would imagine something like The Richmond at Glorious Goodwood would be right up his street.

    Good luck Darren.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

    Fair Eva (Frankel-African Rose)
Out tomorrow in the 2.40 Haydock. I know Steve is sweet on her and hope she makes winning debut for Prince
Khalid Abdullah. She is his first Frankel runner this year and could be Frankel’s 3rd winner out of 4 runners. Come on Eva…keep the flag flying. :rose: Jac

She will need to be smart to win this. The Hannon horse Nations Alexander is no duck egg.

I suspect that Fair Eva may need to run to between 85 and 90 to win this race.

A couple of nicely bred O’Brien runners at Leopardstown tonight.

    5.55 Leopardstown Butterflies (Galileo-Mariah’s Storm)

This 7F race was won last year by Dermot Weld’s Tanaza, who beat Minding into second and briefly became favourite for both the 1000 Guineas and Oaks.

6.25 Leopardstown Douglas Macarthur (Galileo-Alluring Park)

This race was won by Port Douglas last season and Douglas Macarthur is odds on to follow in his footsteps tonight. The colours are a little less familiar with M J Jooste involved with the usual Coolmore suspects in this 1.25 million quid colt.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Both O’Brien newcomers were disappointing, particularly Douglas Macarthur.

Coolmore seem keen to get a colt with the Macarthur name but it’s not been working for them.

Sent off a ridiculous 2/5 Fav on his debut he made no real show. Probably just about the smallest colt in the field, he was easily outclassed on looks by his two stablemates in the race.

I didn’t see any promise for the future myself and he came home last of the field, showing once again the suicide of backing them short odds-on on debut, especially when so many of Aidan’s well bred youngsters need their first race. This looks a waste of 1.25 Million to me and Schubert was a similarly expensive colt who was pretty much useless last year.

Dermot Weld’s Currency Converter stayed on well to land the race at 20/1. The son of Exhange Rate took some pulling up and will get a mile easily.

In the fillies race, all the money was for Oh Grace and we soon saw why. She had good bits of form behind Cuff and paid her a compliment in easily win by just over five lengths.

Butterflies looked all at sea on the ground tonight, her action seemed very exaggerated and laboured on the surface and I would be very wary of her on the surface going forward. She probably needed this but I just don’t like the way she moves on the evidence so far.

This was Oh Grace’s first win in four attempts, so she was due her success. Previously put in her place by Cuff on two occasions, she may not have needed to improve a gram to win this one. She was tipped up going in and the world and his/her wife/husband seemed to know she had this won before the stalls even opened.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

She blew them away didn’t she Steve and I think I read that she has been rated over 90 now so she’s going places.
Another Frankel scooted up today Frankuus at Haydock tonight for Mark Johnston, the first grey Frankel baby to run. I took 5/1 for him to be top sire this year, it’s looking quite good at the moment. Jac
