47 entries for a seven-race card as the 2021/22 Point-to-Point season gets underway at Bishops Court in Devon on Saturday.
Aintree Foxhunters winner Cousin Pascal is in the Ladies Open and a trainer I’m on good terms with has marked my card about one entered elsewhere on the card.
And 44 entries for a six-race card at Pyle in South Glamorgan on Sunday.

October 29, 2021 at 20:28 #1565117I used to enjoy the Point-to-Point column in Racing Ahead magazine, which sadly stopped. I don’t remember his non de plume.
Does anybody know if he writes in any other publications or websites?

But then I don’t have much respect for the racing media, which once employed me so must have very low standards!

Turf Club have basically said that they won’t step in to hold points inside the rails (which surprised me), but any hunts who do not have insurance will not be able to hold their own. I can’t work out if the silence on the subject is because people are in denial, or confident of getting a resolution. Our local packs are currently on foot only, and will not be able hold their race meetings unless insurance becomes available. The knock-on effect to sales companies and vendors would obviously be significant.
