Facts and/or logic don’t come in to Potato’s thinking, Ponti’.
Value Is EverythingDecember 7, 2018 at 12:19 #1388314Good luck Potato, you’re bonkers like but it’s fun to read.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 7, 2018 at 19:12 #1388364You are far too kind Jack and the team commend you for that.
Though let me assure you no luck is needed when it comes to the legend
the quadruple gold cup winner in waiting
aka
THE ELEGANT ONE
December 7, 2018 at 21:36 #1388388Potato – I too love the posts. I can’t fault your passion for your horse although I think you’re half baked (pun intended) or mashed. I wish you all the best with the bet and keep the posts coming. Perhaps when Elegant Escape wins the Gold Cup he could take on Enable in the Arc next year.
December 8, 2018 at 17:24 #1388565The gold cup winner in waiting EE is entered in the Welsh national I see.
I would have preferred a crack at the Lexus personally but if the team must go to Wales then that’s where we must go.December 8, 2018 at 22:32 #1388641We definitely need a like button for potato’s posts alone
December 14, 2018 at 10:44 #1389244Time for Lil Rockerfeller to keep the dream alive. They’ve obviously got Cheltenham aspirations for him, we just don’t know exactly where. It’s a decent standard today, so a win will very much be a step in the right direction. Whether he goes to Kempton from here I’m not too sure, but I’ll top up on 66/1 for the big one in the event he jumps better today and does it well.
December 14, 2018 at 13:04 #1389248His spring targets are still unknown, however what we do know is his jumping is in dire need of cleaning up! It’s disappointing as I thought he jumped better at Exeter last time out.
Take two at Kempton, hopefully.
December 26, 2018 at 15:25 #1390286Clan Des Obeaux obviously improving at a mighty rate and the 16/1 for the Gold Cup (Betvictor) should be snapped up.
December 26, 2018 at 15:35 #1390291As a Presenting Percy backer, none of what the British horses are doing is worrying me much.
December 26, 2018 at 16:00 #1390300What’s the view on Might Bite’s performance? Could it be a wind problem or do people think he’s simply regressed? His performances this term seem too bad to be true. I can only assume he has a wind problem but you would have thought that would have been investigated after Haydock. If it is a wind problem then I guess that would rule him out for the Gold Cup? Interested to hear what your thoughts are.
December 26, 2018 at 17:04 #1390314I never fancied him for the gold cup this season anyway CNC due to my earlier stats on this thread about horses winning records of the recent past going into double figures age wise when contesting it.
But yes might be a breathing issue.December 26, 2018 at 17:11 #1390315I acknowlegde your point about the age issue Mike and it certainly made me think twice about betting on him for the Gold Cup but assuming you’re right the decline we’re seeing in his performance is huge. When Denman and Kauto Star lost to Long Run in the Gold Cup they’re both both still competitive despite being aged ~ 10/11 (I can’t recall exactly). Might Bite looks like he’s either just lost is appetite for racing or there is something else at play here.
December 26, 2018 at 17:19 #1390316It seems /Might Bite bled
December 26, 2018 at 18:10 #1390328What’s the typical prognosis for bleeding? I assume that depends on the extent of the bleeding and source but I assume he should recover from that?
December 26, 2018 at 18:28 #1390330All racehorses bleed, but when it’s visible at the nostrils it’s the worst form of bleeding. I suspect he bled too at Haydock where he looked as distressed as he did today running to the 2nd last. If he bled at Haydock, it would have been restricted to blood in the lungs (via burst capillaries under such air pressure) and would not have been visible outside of a scope. If they did scope him, it should have been picked up.
I wouldn’t trust a horse again who has visibly bled.
December 26, 2018 at 19:02 #1390334Native river although only finishing 3rd did well particularly in the finish. I’d have every confidence in him for the gold cup again. Presenting Percy is still an unknown. I’m not sure last year’s RSA was particularly strong
