I don’t think Fastnet Tempest will be at his best at a mile and that Chester victory, although impressive after a slow start, was against much inferior opposition.
Banksea finished ahead of him at Newbury and gets a 7lb pull in his favour so Fastnet has to improve a lot to overturn that.

Whenever I back Bossy Guest he comes nowhere so I’ll give him a bit of my money today to continue that trend. Sorry BG backers.

Just the one for me… George William at 11/1 Skybet 6 places.

Fast pace up front to aim at. Stiff mile. Sounds like a race he would go well in.

I fancied G K Chesterton last time but I missed the boat with the odds. Having been 5/1 earlier in the week, I decided to leave him when he went shorter.

I thought he was pretty good under a front running ride that day and he seems to have improved since he was gelded. I reckon 18/1 is pretty fair.

Fastnet Tempest will be fine on the fast ground but I feel that he’s not a lot of value at near single figures.

I see no value in El Vip, a winner on the all-weather last time, his previous tun on good to firm saw the son of Pivotal last of the 10 runners.

Also a son of Pivotal Blair House had quite a good season last year and I reckon he will be fit enough for Godolphin first time out this year. He could improve this year and be feasibly handicapped under Barzalona off bottom weight. Drawn in 22 and stablemate G K Chesterton is in box 19, so they should keep each other company, hopefully with one of them winning. Blair House is 25/1 and seems reasonably versatile ground wise.

Just two small darts in this bookies benefit.

    G K Chesterton 18/1 and Blair House 25/1
Were my donations to those poor bookies.

I thought Blair House might get there but the winner was not for stopping. Pipped half a length at 25/1.

The odds on some of the runners was a disgrace. Anyone taking Abe Lincoln at 13/2 needs immediate and extensive Psychiatric help.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Yes, last off the bridle but a bit too much to do, happy enough off that weight
Paco Angel ran a blinder in the last race for Shane Kelly and Richard Hughes and got the place money there too. :good: :good:

The winner was 3 pounds lower than his 5th in last year’s Cambridgeshire. I suppose that was the bit of form to look at.

Well done anyone who had it. You really didn’t have a hope in hell if you’ve been backing low drawn horses.
